a; 6 Claims. (01.9-17) amusement device and has for its prime object to provide seat having means whereby the seat may be engaged with the float so that the bather about in the water.
Another important object of the invention resides in the provision of a device of .this nature which is exceedingly simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture, strong and durable,
having its parts ioldableto a compact relationship and being thoroughly efficient and reliable in use.
With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novelfeatures of construction, and in the combination and ar-'- rangement of parts as will hereinafter be more fully described and claimed] In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a side elevation'of the device showing the same in use.
Figure 2 is a side elevation thereof showing the same in folded position.
Figure 3 is a top plan view of the device in use, and
Figure 4 is a topplan view of the device folded.
Referring to the drawings in detail it will be seen that the numeral 5 denotes an oblong seat of relatively narrow construction. The ends of the seat are provided with longitudinally disposed notches and 8 disposed in parallelism with each other and in different planes immediately adjacent each other and slightly oblique to the central longitudinal dimension of theseat. Arms 9 and It have ends swingable on pinsv II and i2 respectively. It will be noted that these pins are located adjacent the entrance or open ends of the notches and that each arm is swingable on these pins adjacent one corner thereof. The other corners thereof are notched outas indicated at M and i5. Thus the arms may be swung to upright position shown in Figure 1 and the shoulders formed by the notches abut the upper surface of the seat thereby limiting the upward and inward swinging of these arms toward each other. The upper or outer end of the arm 8 is curved outwardly in hook like manner as indicated at I6, while the upper end I1 is curved in hook like fashion outwardly and is shaped preferably to simulate the head of aswan or the like. Adjacent the pivoted endof the arm It there is a rod l8 extending therethrough forming a knee rest for the person on the seat 5 as indicated to advantage in dottedlines in ted lines in Figure described Figure'l. The ends I6 and l! are adapted to engage over a circular float 19 which would be disposed about the body of the person on the seat. When the device is not in use the float is disengaged fromthe ends l6 and i1 and the arms 5 are swung from the position shown in Figure l to the position shown in Figure 2 at which time these arms lap each other as is indicated in dot- 4. This is permitted by the oblique parallel disposition of the notches I and 10 8 as previously explained. It is thought that the construction, utility, and advantages of this device will now be clearly understood by those skilled in'this art without a more detailed description thereof. The present embodiment of the invention has 7 been described in considerable detail merely for i 1 enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.
It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the inven- '25 tion as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is: j
1. An aquatic amusement device of the class described for suspending a bather from an open float comprising a seat, and a pair of arms-swingable on the ends of the seat and having hook like curved outer ends, said hook-like curved outer ends extending in opposite directions to hold said able on the ends of the seat and having hook like curved outer ends, one of the arms having a rod extending therethrough adjacent the seat to form a knee rest, said arms being pivoted in notches in the ends of the seat, said notches being obliquely disposed in adjacent spaced parallel planes so that the arms may be swung in a folded lapping position under the seat,
4. An aquatic amusement device of the class comprising a seat, a pair of arms swingable on the ends of' the seat and having described for suspending a bather from an open float, comprising a seat, and a pair of arms swingable on the ends of the seat and having hook-like curved outer ends extending in opposite directions to hold said open float about the arms, said arms being pivoted in notches in the ends of the seat, and said notches being obliquely disposed in adjacent spaced parallel planes so that the arms may be swung in a folded lapping position under the seat.
6. An aquatic amusement device of the class described for suspending a bather from an open float, comprising a seat, and a pair of arms swingable on the ends of the seat and having booklike curved outer ends extending in opposite directions to hold said open float about the arms, and means whereby when the arms are swung to upright position they will be limited from swinging inwardly toward each other.
