  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to bedside storage bags that are attached to conventional beds for the storing of personal articles.
  • 2. Description of Prior Art
  • The following related art of interest describes various satchels, bags, pouches, and other assorted storage devices, but none discloses the present invention. Conventional bedside bags found in the following prior art cited below has been designed in the past for a full sized bed frames and associated sizeable mattresses for domestic living environments. It is difficult to adapt these devices to unconventional bed frames and mattresses, particularly, loft bed frames utilized in collegiate dormitories. There is a need for a storage bag which can easily be affixed to a loft bed frame which increases the safety and convenience or college students utilizing elevated lofts, not only to store cell phones, IPODs, remote controls, general article storage and enjoy beverages while in the elevated loft area but also provides a sense of security, based on the ability to have a cellular device stored close to the bed frame, so in the event an individual would become incapacitated and unable to leave the elevated loft area, the individual could call emergency personal.

  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In another embodiment, the present multi-purpose bag is comprised of 5 exterior pockets which can be comprised of nylon, mesh, or other material appropriate for student use. The front two exterior storage compartments located centrally on the bag are intended for the storage of cell phones, IPOD® nano, or other types of wireless devices. The pockets are intended to provide convenient and useful storage for student while occupying lofted bed arrangements. When the student is finished using electronic devices, the electronic device(s) can be carefully stored until reuse without the concerns of the devices dropping off the loft bed mattress.
  • In a more preferred embodiment, the present multi-purpose bag is affixed by the previously described rear extension panel system which is connected by a female clasp being inserted into a male clasp for secure attachment to a vertical wood/metal beam of loft bed frame.
  • In a different embodiment, the present multi-purpose storage bag is affixed by perpendicular male/female plastic clasp(s) that can be adjusted via a nylon strap to achieve the appropriate tension level necessary to securely affixed the bag on the horizontal wooden/metal support beam.
  • The present invention provides a novel and convenient storage bag with multiple compartments for easy storage with a built in pair of beverage holders.
  • The present invention has two interior storage compartment located behind the front panel of the bag which are designed to hold beverages in a vertical static position, the storage compartment are intended to hold beverages ranging from multi ounce cans, plastic or glass bottles. The vertical open mouthed pockets are intended to be lined with a waterproof poly material that will prevent transmission of moisture to other areas of the bag that could be adversely affected by the condensation (i.e. electronic device storage areas).
  • The present invention comprises one exterior storage pocket located which is elongated in a horizontal position which spans the width of the bottom of the bag. The purpose of this pocket is to provided a non-visible storage compartment which can store miscellaneous article storage (i.e., cough drop, KLEENEX®, candy, eye drops, etc) and safely contain by enclose through a single track zipper.
  • The present invention comprises two exterior vertical storage compartments located on the opposing sides of the bag which are intended to provide further convenient storage of pens, pencils, candy bars, eye glass cases and other items which are elongated and vertical in nature.
  • Along with the above mentioned advantages, other future advantages will be more apparent from the following description and figures. It is apparent and understood that changes in the specific structure shown and described may be made within the scope of the claims without failing to meet the spirit and intent of the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1 Illustrates a frontal perspective view of the preferred embodiment of claim 1 of the present invention, a multi-storage bag comprised of a durable nylon material.
  • FIG. 2 Illustrates the preferred design of claim 2 demonstrating the interior function of the bag from a top-view perspective.
  • FIG. 3 Illustrates the preferred arrangement of claim 5, demonstrating the components necessary to create the ability for attachment for the storage bag being affixed to a horizontal metal or wood beam
  • FIG. 4. Illustrates the preferred design of claim 5, the method utilized for achieving attachment of the bag being affixed to the horizontal metal or wood member for any loft bed frame.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS PRESENTED IN FIGS. 1-4
  • FIG. 1, represents the front panel of the subject storage bag designed for loft beds as denoted by the reference name and number, FIG. 1. FIG. 1, is shown in perspective view and highlights claim 1(a) which consists of several storage compartments. Specifically, the storage bag for loft bed contains dual exterior storage compartments denoted by the number 2. Along the bottom of Front Panel-1, an elongated storage compartment which is enclosed by a single zipper track is denoted by the number 3. Numbers 4 and 5 denote the open mouthed storage compartments found on the opposing side panels of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 2, demonstrates the interior function of the bag from a top-view perspective which is denoted by the number 6. As found in the interior portion of the storage bag, dual storage compartments consist of a bottom panel 7, front panel 8, side panel(s) and rear panel 9,10, 11 and 12. Side panel 11 serves as a vertical divider which separate the interior storage compartments. A poly liner or more preferred material lines the interior storage pockets as depicted in FIG. 2, which serves as a protective barrier between the bag material and any moisture produced by the storage of liquids. There are two opposing side pockets which are vertical in orientation and form no closure to remain open-mouthed design.
  • FIG. 3, highlights the components necessary to create attachment for the storage bag being affixed to a horizontal metal or wood beam, specifically, the rear and extension panel(s) of the storage bag. The vertical extension panel is situated on the top of the rear panel and is highlighted with the number 15 and serves as the attachment panel of the storage bag for loft beds. The vertical extension panel contains a perpendicular female clasp comprising plastic, metal, or other preferred material depicted as number 16. At nearly the bottom of the rear panel of the storage bag contains the male portion of the clasp which is plastic, metal, or other more preferred material depicted as 17.
  • FIG. 4, highlights the method utilized for achieving attachment of the bag being affixed to the horizontal metal or wood member for any loft bed frame. As depicted by number 18 the vertical extension panel 15, is folded behind the rear panel 15 of the storage bag, where the female portion of the clasp 16 is inserted in the male portion of the clasp 17. Upon clasping the female and male portion of the clasp, the vertical nylon strip of cloth depicted as 19, is pulled through the opening found on the female clasp 16, the opening is depicted by the number 20. As the vertical nylon strip is pulled through the opening of the female clasp 20, the user is able to achieve appropriate tension for secure attachment of the bag to the horizontal wooden or metal support member of any loft bed.
