Description

  • This Application claims the benefit of copending Turkish Patent Application No. 2010/02342 filed Mar. 26, 2010 and copending U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 61/328,907 filed on Apr. 28, 2010.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This invention relates to a delivery box, which may be manufactured from the materials like paperboard and cardboard and which is used in the delivery of the hot or cold food products such as lahmacun (Turkish pizza with spicy meat filling), pita, pizza, cookies, etc. in packaged form to houses and offices.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Today the products like pizza, pita, filled pastry are delivered within the packages manufactured from such materials as paperboard and cardboard as a result of a relevant order being placed with a restaurant, buffet, etc. With the people tending towards the convenience foods, the packages inside which the products like pizza, pita, filled pastry are delivered have become more important. In general, in related art delivery boxes, no change may be made in the dimensions of the boxes which have standard sizes based on the food product to be delivered. When it is desired to keep the remaining portion once the food delivered to the customer has been eaten, said portion is placed into separate small containers available or into the same large box that was used to deliver the food. This big box provided along with the delivery causes the food to occupy a very large volumetric space in the refrigerator or in another place where said food is preserved.
  • SUMMARY
  • To overcome the disadvantages mentioned above there is provided a food delivery box made of a single sheet comprising a plurality of vertical and horizontal creases substantially perpendicular to each other. Side surfaces are provided that can be bent along the horizontal folding creases. A big upper cover is provided that can be bent along the vertical folding creases. A big base is provided that can be bent along the vertical folding creases. The food delivery box is formed by folding the big upper cover and the big base along the vertical creases and by folding the side surfaces along the horizontal folding creases.
  • In specific enhancements the big upper cover comprises an upper cover tearing crease and a separable cover surface that can be detached along the upper cover tearing crease and the big base comprises a base tearing crease and separable base surface that can be detached along the base cover tearing crease.
  • In more specific enhancements, the separable cover surface is separated to leave a small upper cover and the separable base surface is separated to leave a small base.
  • In even more specific enhancements, a small box is formed by combining the side surfaces, the small upper cover and the small base by appropriately folding along the horizontal and vertical creases.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
  • The above advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail exemplary embodiments thereof with reference to the attached drawings in which:
  • FIG. 1 is view showing the opening of the food delivery box.
  • FIG. 2 is a different view showing the opening of the food delivery box.
  • FIG. 3 is a view showing the separable surfaces.

  • FIG. 5 is a view showing the separable surfaces on the big box.
  • FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the small box.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • With reference to FIGS. 1-7, a description of an exemplary embodiment incorporating features of the present invention is provided herein. Side surfaces (11) are provided which are capable of folding along the various horizontal folding creases (3). The vertical folding creases (4) are formed perpendicularly at substantially an angle of 90° to the horizontal folding creases (3). The big upper cover (1) and the big base (2) are capable of folding along a various number of vertical folding creases (4). The big box (12) is formed by folding and combining the big upper cover (1) and big base (2) along the vertical creases (4) and further folding the side surfaces (11) along the horizontal creases (3).
  • The big upper cover (1) comprises the separable cover surface (7) and the cover tearing crease (6) that holds the separable cover surface (7). The separable cover surface (7) separates along the cover tearing crease (6) on the big upper cover (1), thus forming the small upper cover (8).
  • The big base (2) comprises the separable base surface (10) and the base tearing crease (5) that holds the separable base surface (10). The separable base surface (10) separates along the base tearing crease (5) on the big base (2), thus forming the small base (9).
  • The small box (13) is formed by folding and combining the small upper cover (8), small base (9) along the vertical creases (4) and the side surfaces (11) along the horizontal creases (3).
  • This box according to the exemplary embodiment is manufactured using the material, which is printed by means of the methods like offset, digital, etc., on the surfaces such as the paperboard, cardboard, corrugated cardboard, or by applying the printing techniques on said surfaces, followed by the cutting of the surfaces with the help of the machines (FIG. 1).
  • The big upper cover (1), big base (2), and the side surfaces (11), which are manufactured from a single sheet material, are folded along the horizontal (3) and vertical folding creases (4) present on the sheet, in order to form the big box (12) (FIG. 4). After the food products to be delivered, such as pita, pizza, cookies, etc., are placed into the big box (12) that has thus been brought into a state ready for use, they are delivered to the consumer.
  • The product portions remaining after the consumption of the food products like pita, pizza, cookies, etc. delivered to the customer are preserved. A small size box is needed to preserve the remaining products. The big box (12) inside which the food products like pita, pizza, cookies, etc. are delivered is unfolded via the horizontal (3) and vertical folding creases (4). The separable cover surface (7) and the separable base surface (10), which are present on the big upper cover (I) and the big base (2) belonging to the material that has been unfolded via the creases (3, 4) into a sheet form (FIG. 2), are separated at the base tearing crease (5) and the cover tearing crease (6), respectively (FIG. 3).
  • Once the separable surfaces (7, 10) are separated at the tearing creases (5, 6), the small upper cover (8) and the small base (9) remain. The small box (13) is formed by folding and combining the small upper cover (8), small base (9) and the side surfaces (11) along the creases (3, 4). The food products like pita, pizza, cookies, etc. remaining after consumption are preserved by way of placement of the same into a small box (13) occupying a smaller volume.
  • Owing to the surfaces torn at the creases, the box with a big size may be easily turned into a box with smaller size.
  • The product portions remaining after the consumption of the food products such as lahmacun, pita, pizza, cookies, etc., which are delivered within big boxes, may be easily placed into the smaller boxes formed by way of tearing. In this way, the saving is provided in the area that would be occupied by a big sized box.
  • The invention provides separable surfaces, which will also prevent extra packing cost, thus reducing the material cost, and enable an economical packing.
  • The invention also leads to better stacking and ease of setup for the delivery of the products.
  • Other modifications and variations to the invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the foregoing disclosure and teachings. Thus, while only certain embodiments of the invention have been specifically described herein, it will be apparent that numerous modifications may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
