Abstract
A waterpipe with a small gas or electric flame that heats up the tobacco in the hookah, instead of the traditional charcoal flame. This new device will take much less time to light up the hookah and start smoking. It will also have health improvemnt for not inhaling the carbon monoxide coming out of the charcoal and improving the taste of the tobacco
Description
- This application emanates from a previously filed provisional application number 61/257433 filed Nov. 2, 2009.
- The invention relates to waterpipes: aka hookahs. More specifically the heat source by which the material is carbonized for the purpose of inhillation.
- In many parts of the world a device unique in appearance and known as a water pipe has been in existence and popularly used to smoke organic materials, including tobacco. The materials smoked in the orient are usually harsh, hot and very irritating to the lungs of the smoker if not tempered in some manner. Water pipes (aka hookah) are one such means and the classic water pipe includes a water chamber interposed between the bowl, wherein the substance being smoked is burned, and a mouthpiece so that the smoke bubbles through the water to clean the smoke of ash and contaminants and to cool the smoke, thus making an otherwise very unpleasant experience quite pleasurable.
- Very recently, water pipes have made an appearance in the Western World and are rapidly gaining in popularity. A few attempts at applying Western technology to the otherwise Eastern device have been made.
- An early but complex water pipe is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 110,594 issued Dec. 27, 1870. A tobacco chamber is suspended by smoke pipes conveying smoke to a lower, water chamber having a sponge above the water and a mouthpiece tube connected to the top of the water chamber. The tobacco chamber includes perforated convoluted passageways to air cool the smoke and a small, sponge filled chamber for the collection of ash and oil by-products of tobacco combustion. A far simpler device is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 754,398 including a smoke and ash collection chamber about the tobacco bowl and tubing to convey the smoke to a lower water chamber to cool the smoke before it passes to the mouthpieces. Another variant in the art of water pipes with ash traps is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 1,513,147, where an ash trap is disposed vertically between an upper bowl and a lower water chamber.
- None of these aforementioned prior art water pipes disclose a pipe wherein the point of tobacco ignition is created by electric or gas flame, as disclosed in the current device.
- It is a primary object of the invention to provide a hookah having an electric or gas fueled flame for the purpose of igniting or burning materials without the need for solid fuels.
- It is another object of the invention to provide a hookah having an instant heating device or element for the tobacco or related materials.
- I have invented a small gas flame and another alternative to gas is an elecric flame that heats up the tobacco in the hookah, instead of the traditional charcoal flame using the gas/electric flame will take much less time to light up the hookah and start smoking. It will also have health improvemnt for not inhaling the carbon monoxide coming out of the charcoal and improving the taste of the tobacco
-
FIG. 1 is the frontal view of the device. - Physical Description:
- Easy Light for Hookah basically has four parts:
- 1) Gas tank that has adjustable heat controls
- 2 ) Flexible gas tube
- 3) 0.25 inch thick and 1 to 2 inch diameter brass or copper alloy plated with iron and chromed.
- 4) Catalyst
- The catalyst (A) would be in the center of the metal plate (B) and attached to the gas tank (D) through the gas tube (C). The gas tank would be hanged on the hookah itself and the catalyst centered metal plate would be placed on top of the tobacco.
Claims (6)
1. An easy light for hookah wherein heat is generated to burn the tobacco through the use of a gaseous fuel comprised of:
a. gas tank with heat controls
b. flexible gas tube
c. catylst
2. An easy light for hookah in accordance to claim 1 wherein the heat is generated through an electric flame.
3. An easy light for hookah in accordance to claim 1 wherein a metal plate is placed on top of the tobacco.
4. An easy light for hookah in accordance to claim 1 wherein the adjustable heat control gives the smoker the choice of increasing or decreasing the heat as desired.
5. An easy light for hookah in accordance to claim 1 wherein emissions are CO free.
6. An easy light for hookah in accordance to claim 1 wherein effluent is limited to a gaseous state.
