  • The present invention relates to the field of armbands.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is a new and improved more stylish type of armband to be used for personalization, customization, or team, school representation by use of applied names, markings, and or logos.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the invention 10 in use on an arm 26 holding an item 22 used with a belt clip 22 a.
  • FIG. 2 is a plan view of the partially exploded components parts of the invention 10. The face 12 of the invention 10 consists of a flexible material which can be repeatedly bent and straightened without fracture. In the preferred embodiment the face 12 is a flexible material such as vinyl or leather. However, the face 12 can consist of any flexible material or fabric.
  • The face 12 is typically 1/32nd to 1/16th of an inch thick and has dimensions of 1 inch wide×6-12 inches long or 2 inches wide×6-12 inches long.
  • The backing 14 of the invention 10 consist of flexible material which can be repeatedly bent and straightened without fracture. In preferred embodiment the backing 14 is a flexible material such as polypropylene webbing, nylon webbing, or cotton webbing. However, the backing 14 can consist of any material which can be repeatedly bent without fracturing, such as cotton, nylon, and various other materials and fabrics.
  • The backing 14 is typically 1/32nd to 1/16th of an inch thick and has dimensions of 1 inch wide by 6-15 inches long or 2 inches wide by 6-15 inches long.
  • The face 12 is secured to the backing 14 via use of thread. The face 12 is sewn onto backing 14 approximately 1/16th to ⅛th of an inch from perimeter with 1 inch to 3 inches of backing 14 extending past facing 12 on one end of invention 10 and flush on other end.
  • The end of backing 14 which extends past face 12, 1 inch to 3 inches, inserts through loop 18 (1 inch or 2 inch loop) wraps around loop 18 and is sewn between face 12 and itself at same time in which face 12 is secured to the backing 14.
  • Stretch loop 14 a is secured to invention 10 on end opposite to that which loop 18 is secured. Stretch loop 14 a is sewn in between face 12 and backing 14, ¼th of an inch to 1 inch from end of face 12 and backing 14 at same time in which face 12 is secured to backing 14 with loop side of stretch loop facing up.
  • Stretch Loop 14 a is typically 1/32nd to 1/16th of an inch thick and has dimensions of 1 inch wide×3 to 14 inches long or 2 inches wide×3 to 14 inches long. Stretch loop is a flexible, stretchable fabric that is smooth on one side and has loops on the opposite side and is used to secure invention 10 to arm 26. In preferred embodiment stretch loop is material of choice. However other flexible, stretchable materials or fabrics can also be used.
  • Collegiate/professional/non-professional teams markings, logos, wording 16 are applied to face 12 via embroidery in preferred embodiment. However collegiate/professional/non-professional teams markings, logos, wording can be applied via other methods such as silk screening, stickers, or adhesive.
  • Embroidery is typically done before attaching face 12 to backing 14 and stretch loop 14 a. However, embroidery can be done after attachment of face 12 to backing 14 and stretch loop 14 a.
  • Markings/logos are great for school/team, club, and organization support, representation, or affiliation.
  • Velcro hook 24 is typically ½ of an inch to 1 inch wide×¾th of an inch to 2 inches long. Velcro hook 24 is secured to stretch loop 14 a via use of thread with Velcro hook facing up. Velcro hook 24 is sewn onto stretch loop 14 a 1/16th to ⅛th of an inch from perimeter.
  • Mp3, cell phone, or other item holder 28 is typically ½ of an inch to 1 inch wide×1 to 1½ inches long. It consist of flexible, stretchable material. In preferred embodiment mp3, cell phone, or other item holder 28 is a flexible, stretchable material such as poly-elastic. However mp3, cell phone, or other item holder 28 can consist of other flexible, stretchable material or fabric.
  • Mp3, cell phone, or other item holder 28 is connected to face 12 via thread. Mp3, cell phone, or other item holder 28 is sewn onto face 12 1/16th to 3/16th of an inch from both ends of mp3, cell phone, or other item holder 28.
  • FIG. 3 is top view of invention 10.
  • Note: Dimensions stated above are standard adult lengths and widths. Actual lengths and widths can vary due to sizing for children, obese adults, customization and or customer preference.
  • Invention 10 can also made by eliminating loop 18, eliminating 1 to 3 inch excess on one side of backing 14, eliminating Velcro hook 24 on stretch loop 14 a, and sew side of 14 a that used to hold Velcro hook 24 in between face 12 and backing 14 on opposite side of invention 10. In this embodiment invention 10 can be slid over arm.

Claims (4)

1. A form of armband for personalization, customization, team, school, club, organization, collegiate, or professional sports representation, support, or affiliation or as fashion accessory capable of holding mp3 player, cell phone, or other item used with a clip or belt clip to be worn around arm, said device comprising: a face, a backing being joined to the base, means for applying markings, logos, names, wording, numerals to face, means for securing device around arm.
2. The device of claim 1, wherein said backing is a flexible material.
3. The device of claim 1, wherein said face is a flexible material.
4. The device of claim 1, wherein said face and said backing are stitched together.
