IMPROVEMENT IN GANG-PLOW FRAMES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 201,097, dated March 12, 1878; application filed August 8, 1877.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN OURRIE, of the city of London, in the Province of Ontario,
Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements on Gang-Plow Frames; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing of my invention.
My improvement consists of a frame, constructed of fiat wrought-iron, in one piece, bent to required shape, and strengthened by center bar and two plates in front, all as hereinafter fully described.
A A is the frame, formed of one continuous strip of flat wrought-iron, placed on edge and bent to the required shape, the two ends being bolted together at a. B is a center bar,
also of flat wrought-iron, bolted from front to rear of frame, and acting as a brace and strengthening support thereto, the result obtained by this form of construction being extreme lightness combined with greater strength than heretofore obtained, while the frame, being formed in this manner'--that is, with its edge only presented upward-affords less surface to the action of the weather, and is consequently less subject to decay. O G are two cast-iron plates, bolted to front end of frame on top and bottom, as a further means of strengthening the same.
The standards D D D are bolted to the sides of this frame and the brace B, as shown at b 0 d, and to these standards the moldspecified.
