Abstract
Disclosed is a receptacle with a lid. When the lid is press-fitted into a receptacle body, the packing that which protrudes outward from a rim section of the lid moves down along an inner wall of a receptacle body while varying internal pressure of the receptacle, thereby preventing the lid from being unintentionally separated from the receptacle body. The packing installed at the rim of the lid is integrally formed with the lid through an insert molding process. In a conventional lid structure, a packing having a wing section protrudes from a rim of the lid in a state in which the wing section is spaced apart from the lid, so that an additional coupling device is necessary to couple the packing to the lid. Due to the coupling device, productivity is lowered and quality of the product deteriorates. To solve this problem, a support wall is provided at a lower portion of the lid and a fixing member of a packing is fabricated through an insert molding process such that the fixing member closely adheres to the support wall. A wing section protrudes from the fixing member while being integrally formed with the fixing member, so that the packing is installed in the lid without using an additional coupling device.
Description
- This application claims the benefit under 35 U.S.C. § 119(a) of a Korean patent application filed in the Korean Intellectual Property Office on Jul. 26, 2007 and assigned Serial No. 2007-75045, the entire disclosure of which is hereby incorporated by reference.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a packing, which is installed in a lid mounted on a receptacle used for storing foods, etc., and is fabricated through an injection molding by using plastic. More particularly, the present invention relates to a receptacle with a lid, in which a packing having a foldable wing section is integrally formed with the lid through a dual injection molding scheme, such as an insert molding scheme, so that, when the lid is press-fitted into a receptacle body, the wing section of the packing, which protrudes outward from a rim section of the lid, closely adheres to an inner wall of the receptacle body to vary internal pressure of the receptacle, thereby preventing the lid from being unintentionally separated from the receptacle body and improving sealing performance between the lid and the receptacle body.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- In general, in a state in which a receptacle lid is coupled with a receptacle body, if the receptacle lid is pressed downward, a packing that protrudes outward from a rim section of the lid moves downward along an inner wall of the receptacle body. An air vent hole is formed in the lid to change internal pressure of the receptacle body. The packing is installed at a peripheral portion of the lid with a wing section that protrudes outward from the rim section of the lid. In order to fixedly install the packing in the lid, an additional coupling device is necessary.
- In addition, in the case that the packing is installed in the lid by means of the coupling device, another device for securely fixing the coupling device to the lid is necessary.
- That is, various devices are provided at upper and lower portions of the lid to fix the packing therebetween.
- However, there is a disadvantage in that the packing may be unintentionally separated from the lid if the packing is not precisely assembled with the lid because the packing is deformed as internal pressure of the receptacle becomes increased. In addition, impurities may be embedded into a gap that is created when assembling the coupling device or the lid that is divided into several parts, thereby causing a problem in terms of sanitary.
- The present invention has been made to solve the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a receptacle with a lid, in which a packing having a foldable wing section is integrally formed with the lid through a dual injection molding scheme, such as an insert molding scheme, so that, when the lid is press-fitted into a receptacle body, the wing section of the packing, which protrudes outward from a rim section of the lid, closely adheres to an inner wall of the receptacle body to vary internal pressure of the receptacle, thereby preventing the lid from being unintentionally separated from the receptacle body and improving sealing performance between the lid and the receptacle body.
- In order to accomplish the above object, according to the present invention, a packing is fabricated by using a plastic material called “koma” having superior elastic and adhesive properties, a fixing member is formed in the packing such that the packing can be fixedly attached to one side of a support wall of a lid, and a wing section protrudes outward from a lower end portion of the fixing member. The fixing member and the wing section can be integrally fabricated through a dual injection molding scheme, such as an insert molding scheme, so that it is not necessary to assemble the wing section with the fixing member.
- In addition, when performing the insert molding process, a passage hole is formed at an upper portion of the support wall of the lid, so that the fixing member may serve as a decoration surface at the upper surface of the lid. Thus, the receptacle can be realized with various designs and the fixing member can be fixedly attached to the support wall of the lid.
- Therefore, the packing having the wing section can be installed in the lid without using an additional coupling device. Since the fixing member of the packing having the above structure can be fixedly attached to the support wall of the lid, the support wall may securely make contact with an inner wall of a receptacle body due to the fixing member and the wing section of the packing, so that the sealing performance between the lid and the receptacle body can be improved.
- Other aspects, advantages, and salient features of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from the following detailed description, which, taken in conjunction with the annexed drawings, discloses exemplary embodiments of the invention.
- The above and other advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent with reference to the following detailed description when considered in conjunction with the accompanying drawings wherein:

- Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be explained in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
- As shown in
FIG. 1 , a receptacle according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes areceptacle body 30, alid 10 having anair vent device 11 at an upper portion thereof and asupport wall 12 at a lower portion thereof, and apacking 20 including afixing member 21 closely making contact with one side of thesupport wall 12 and awing section 22 extending from thefixing member 21 while being integrally formed with thefixing member 21. - Preferably, the
packing 20 is made from a plastic material, such as “koma”. Thepacking 20 can be fabricated by using various materials having property identical to that of “koma”. - In addition, a
passage hole 13 is formed at an upper portion of thesupport wall 12 of thelid 10 and anupper portion 21 a of thefixing member 21 of thepacking 20 is rested on an upper surface of thelid 10 by passing through thepassage hole 13. - To this end, a recess 23 is formed on the upper surface of the
lid 10 such that theupper portion 21 a of thefixing member 21 ofpacking 20 can be rested in the recess 23. - A
step portion 14 is formed at an upper portion of thesupport wall 12 of thelid 10, so that arim 15 is provided at the upper portion of thesupport wall 12 of thelid 10. Therim 15 is closely fitted in arim section 31 of thereceptacle body 30, which is formed at an upper portion of thereceptacle body 30. A size of therim section 31 of thereceptacle body 30 is substantially identical to a size of therim 15 of thelid 10, and astep section 32 is formed at a lower end of therim section 31 such that a front end of thewing section 21 of thepacking 20 makes contact with thestep section 32. - According to the receptacle of an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the
packing 20 is integrally formed with thelid 20 through an injection molding process in a state in which thewing section 22 of thepacking 20 protrudes outward, so that the lid can be securely coupled with the receptacle body without being unintentionally separated from the receptacle body. In addition, since the upper portion of the fixing member of the packing is rested on the upper surface of the lid by passing through the passage hole, the lid can be securely fixed to the receptacle body. Further, since the upper portion of the fixing member of the packing is rested in the recess formed on the upper surface of the lid, the fixing member can be securely positioned on the upper surface of the lid even if external impact is applied to the fixing member. - Although the exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been described, it is understood that the present invention should not be limited to these exemplary embodiments but various changes and modifications can be made by one ordinary skilled in the art within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
