This Y invention relates to improvements in .safety razors, and has `for its Vobject to Vpro-vide a reversible head, blade-and guard.

The razor shown in Figures l, 2, 3, '7 and 8 composed or' 'live parts, an arcuate head, aflex- `ible blade, a flexible guard, a handle and a screw or pin for holding the blade and the guard on the head. By using these five elements a razor may be formed in which the blade is curved away from the handle, as shown in Figures l and 3. From these same parts a razor may be formed in which the ends of the blade are curved toward the handle, as shown in Figures '7 and 8. This Vchange is brought about `by reversing the blade andthe f `guard. with relation to the head andthe handle and the pin with relation to thehead. The guard and the blade in each form have the same relative positions.

As shown in Figures 1, 2,'3, 7 and 8, the head i is oblong and longitudinally arcuate, and is provided, intermediate its ends, with an oblong irregularly shaped hole 2. Along one edgeof the head and on the concave side thereof is a ilange 3, which terminates in cam members Il. The blade 5 is flexible and has therein a hole of the same size and shapeas the hole in the head.

The guard t isv oblong and has therein ra hole corresponding in size and shape to the holes in the blade and the head.V These holes are designated by the numeral 1, forthe guard and blade.

In assembling the parts shown in Figure 8 the ange 3 and inenibers or lugs lijare at what may fbe'called the back of the razor head. In the arrangement shown in Figure l the handle is on the convex side of the head. The guard and blade are arranged one upon the other Y and placed upon the concave side of the head fengages the convex side of the head.

In Figure 9 there is shown a double-edged 'blade with a guard having teeth Yon oppositely disposed edges. In this form the head, the blade and the guard may be assembled to produce a razor in which the ends of the head, the blade andthe guard bend away from the handle, or these members may be assembled so their ends will bend toward the handle'.

The stem head may be in the form of an elongated, flexible plate substantially as wide and as long as the blade, or it may be rigid and arcuate, as shown in Figure 15. 'f

In the form shown in Figures 13 and llthere is shown a` head 2! ,which has on one edge teeth 22 `and on its other edge a nange 23. In this form of razor the head serves as a head and as a guard, and is preferably arcuate and receives on its concave side a blade 24 held to the head by means of a spring plate 25, suitably attached to or formed as a head 2S for the screw or stern for holding the blade and head assembled ona handle 21.

In the form shown in Figure 9 the head is designated by 'the numeral Y 28. This head Vis arcuate. Cooperating with this head is a doubleedged blade 29 and a double-toothed guard 3b, In this form the parts are'heldV together by means f of a vpin which has a head 32 and extends into the Yhandle 33. The pin is similar in all respects to the `pins used in the other forms of razor.

It will be understood that I desire to comprehend within my invention such modifications as come Within the scope of my claims and my invention.

Having thus fully'described my invention, what vI claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

In a razor, an arcuate head, a blade and a guard assembled in definite relationship with each other, and means including a handle and a pin threaded into the handle for attaching the blade and the guard to the head so that the razor may have a cutting edge that is either concave or convex with relation to the handle.

3. In a razor, an arcuate` head, a iiexible blade, a flexible guard, a handle, and a removable pin tosupport thehead on the handle and hold the blade and the guard assembled against the concave side `of the head so .that the ends of the head, the blade and the guard will curve toward or away from the handle, said pin having means thereon Vengaging the blade when the handle'is clamped on the convex side of the-head. 4. In therazor, a head having integral' guard means along its edges, a double-edged Yblade formed to fit the concave side of the head, a handle on the convex side of the head and removable means engaging the head andthe handle to hold the blade on the head. 5. In a razor, an arcuate head havingra hole therein, a exible blade and a iexible guard assembled in a definite relation to each other, the blade and the guard having holes therein, and means passing through the holes to flex the blade and the guard and hold them on the concave side of the head with either the blade or the guard against the head.

6. In a razor, a handle, a flexible blade, and

means to flex the blade and hold-it on the handle so that the convex side of the blade is nearest the handle, said means consisting of an oblong longitudinally arcuate rigid razor.V head and aV stem adapted to be attached to the handle and having an elongated arcuate rigid head thereon cooperating with the razor head to iiexand hold the blade.

7.-In a razor, an arcuate head having guard means along one edge, a` blade formedV to tthe concave side of the head, a handle on the convex side of the head, said head and blade having holes therein, and a member engaging the head and the blade and extending through the holes into the handle to hold the blade on the handle, said member comprising a pin having a flexible head.

8. In a razor, a handle, a flexible blade, an arcuate rigid razor head, and means comprising a flexible element for flexing the blade against the concave sideY of the razor head and attaching the handle to the convex side of the razor head.

9. In a razor, an arcuate head, a blade, a guard, a handle, and means tosupport the head on the handle Vand hold the blade and the guard assembled against the concave side of the head so that the ends of the head, the blade, andthe guard will curve toward or away from the handle, Vsaid Vmeans comprising a Vpin 4passing' through the ,nite relation 'to each other, the yblade'and the guard having holes therein, and means passing through the holes to clamp the blade on the guard and hold them on the concave side of the head with either the blade or the guard against the head, said means consisting of a handle and a pin engaging the handle and having a head to engage the arcuate head or the assembled blade and guard, so that, when the handle is clamped on the convex side of the arcuate head and the pin is engaging the blade, the guard is disposed between the arcuate head and the blade.

11. In a razor, an arcuate head having a hole therein, a blade and a guard assembled in a denite relation to each other, the blade and the guard having holes therein, and means passing through the holes to clamp the blade and the guard and hold them on the concave side of the head with either the blade or guard against the head, said means consisting of a handle and a pin threaded into the handle and having a head to engage the arcuate head or the assembled blade or guard so that, when the handle is clamped on the convex side of the arcuate headand the pin is engaging the blade, the guard is disposed between the arcuate head and the blade.
