Definitions
- the present invention relates to a plate material carry-out device that carries out plate materials processed by a plate material processing machine such as a punch press or a laser processing machine.
- Plate material processing machines such as punch presses perform various processing operations including an operation of cutting a plurality of product plate materials out of a raw plate material by means of punching and an operation of forming a hole in a single plate material.
- the product plate materials processed by the plate material processing machine are carried out to a predetermined plate material carry out section by a plate material carry-out device.
- Some of these plate material carry-out devices have a traveling member installed on a track disposed between the plate material processing machine and the plate material carry-out section and having a plate material holding means such as suction pads. Plate material carry-out devices have also been proposed which can move along the track in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction and which has a traveling member that can move in two orthogonal axial directions (see, for example, the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2003-136166).
- the plate material carry-out device described in the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2003-136166 is designed so that the plate holding means of the traveling member can be expanded and contracted in a traveling direction so as to deal with the various sizes of product plate materials.
- Another plate material carry-out device which has a plurality or traveling members that travel on an endless circling track to prevent a possible delay in carrying out plate materials requiring only a short processing time, thus improving cycle time (the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2000-351032).
- the time required for the reciprocation may be longer than the time required to process a product plate material.
- the plate material processing machine must wait until the traveling member of the plate material carry-out device returns. This makes it impossible to take advantage of the processing capacity of the plate material processing machine and increases the cycle time. To improve the cycle time, it is necessary to increase the traveling speed of the traveling member and to reduce the time required for acceleration and deceleration.
- the plate holding means can be expanded and contracted so as to be able to deal with the various sizes of product plate materials.
- the traveling member and the plate material holding means are heavy, making it difficult to increase the traveling speed.
- a reduction in the size and weight of the traveling member allows the traveling speed to be increased.
- a simple reduction in the size and weight of the traveling member prevents large-sized product plate materials from bring carried out.
- Carry-out operations can be more efficiency performed by the plate material carry-out device shown in the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2000-351032 and using the plurality of traveling members traveling on the circling track.
- This plate material carry-out device also allows the plurality of traveling members to hold a single product plate material, and can thus deal with large-sized product plate materials.
- the plurality of traveling members travel on the circling track, it is difficult to configure a means for supplying power to each traveling member and a means for supplying air for suction pads.
- the power source system requires the use or a trolley or the like, complicating a power source facility, and stably supplying power is difficult.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a plate material carry-out device that can prevent a possible delay in carrying out a plate material even if the plate material requires only a short processing time, thus improving the cycle time, the plate material carry-out device also requiring only a simple configuration.
- Another object of the present invention is to enable an operation of carrying out a plate material located off a traveling member track on a plate material processing machine and to enable traveling members on a plurality of tracks to cooperatively carry out a plate material.
- Yet another object of the present invention is to perform effective control for improving the cycle time.
- Still another object of the present invention is to enable plate materials of various sizes to be carried out. Further another object of the present invention is to enable an operation of stably carrying out even such a plate material as is largely hidden under a processing means of the plate material carry-put device.
- the present invention provides a plate material carry-out device that carries out a processed plate material from a plate material processing machine to a plate material carry out section, the device comprising a plurality of tracks installed parallel to one another between the plate material processing machine and the plate material carry-out section, and traveling members independently provided on the respective tracks to reciprocate between the plate material processing machine and the plate material carry-out section, each of the traveling members having a plate material holding means holding a plate material on the plate material processing machine.
- This configuration enables the plurality of traveling members installed on the respective tracks to operate independently to carry out the plate material.
- the present invention prevents a possible delay in carrying out the plate material even if the plate material requires only a short processing time, allowing the cycle time to be improved.
- each traveling member is installed on the corresponding track so as to be able to reciprocate along the track. Consequently, the traveling member can be supplied with power and air from a power source and an air source which are installed at fixed positions, through a flexible cable and piping. This simplifies the configuration of the supply system for energy sources.
- the plate material holding means or at least one of the traveling members is provided so as to be movable forward and backward in a horizontal direction orthogonal to a traveling direction, and is able to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine located off the track for the traveling member in the orthogonal horizontal direction.
- any of the tracks may be forced to lie away from a position where a processed plate material on the plate material processing machine stands by.
- the traveling members on all the tracks can use the plate material holding means to hold the processed plate material on the plate material processing machine, at the predetermined position where the processed plate material stands by.
- the plate material carry-out device may have an independent carry-out control means ( 22 ) for performing control such that while one of the traveling members is traveling, the other traveling members allow the plate material holding means to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine.
- the plate material carry-out device has the independent carry-out control means ( 22 ) for performing control such that while one of the traveling members is traveling, the other traveling members allow the plate material holding means to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine, it is possible to effectively utilize the configuration in accordance with the present invention in which the traveling members are independently installed on the plurality of parallel tracks, to further improve the cycle time.
- the plate material carry-out device may have a plural traveling member-cooperation control means ( 23 ) for controlling the traveling members and plate material holding members so that the plate material holding members of a plurality of the traveling members hold a single plate material and travel to carry out the plate material.
- a plural traveling member-cooperation control means 23
- Large-sized plate materials can be carried out by thus allowing the plate material holding means of the plurality of traveling members to hold and convey a single plate material.
- plate materials of various sizes can be carried out by switching between a carry-out operation by a single traveling member and cooperative transfer.
- the plural-traveling-member cooperation control means ( 23 ) may have a pullout and cooperative transfer control section ( 24 ) that executes a series of control processes including a process of allowing one of the traveling members to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine and to pull out the plate material in a track direction, using the plate holding means, a process of allowing another traveling member to hold the pulled-out plate material using the plate material holding means, and a process of allowing both the traveling members to travel to transfer the plate material held by the plate material holding means of both the traveling members.
- a plate material completely processed by the plate material processing machine and waiting to be carried out may be largely hidden under processing means of the plate material processing machine, for example, a turret of a turret punch press. In this case, the plate material needs to be pulled out, but where only a portion of the plate material which is exposed from the processing means is gripped and the plate material is then pulled out and transferred as it is, the posture of the held plate material may be unbalanced.
- the plate material may thus fall.
- stable transfer can be achieved by providing the pullout and cooperative transfer control section ( 24 ) to allow one of the traveling members to pull out the plate material on the plate material processing machine and to then allow another traveling member to hold a different portion of the plate material so that both traveling members can hold and transfer the plate material.
- the present invention provides the plate material carry-out device that carries out the processed plate material from the plate material processing machine to the plate material carry-out section, the device comprising the plurality of tracks installed parallel to one another between the plate material processing machine and the plate material carry-out section, and the traveling members independently provided on the respective tracks to reciprocate between the plate material processing machine and the plate material carry-out section, each of the traveling members having the plate material holding means holding the plate material on the plate material processing machine.
- the present invention prevents a possible delay in carrying out the material even if the material requires only a short processing time, allowing the cycle time to be improved.
- the present invention can achieve this using the simple configuration.
- the plate material holding means of at least one of the traveling members is provided so as to be movable forward and backward in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the traveling direction, and is able to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine located off the track for the traveling member in the orthogonal horizontal direction
- the plate material located off the track for the traveling member on the plate material processing machine can be carried out.
- the traveling members on the plurality of tracks can carry out the plate material.
- the plate material carry-out device has the independent carry out control means for performing control such that while one of the traveling members is traveling, the other traveling members allow the plate material holding means to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine, effective control can be performed so as to improve the cycle time.
- the plate material carry-out device has the plural traveling member-cooperation control means for controlling the traveling members and plate material holding members so that the plate material holding members of a plurality of the traveling members hold a single plate material and travel to carry out the plate material, plate materials of various sizes can be carried out.

A plate material carry-out device carries out a processed plate material W from a plate material processing machine 1 to a plate material carry out section 3. The plate material carry-out device includes a plurality of tracks 11, 12 installed parallel to one another between the plate material processing machine 1 and the plate material carry-out section 3, and traveling members 13, 14 independently provided on the respective tracks to reciprocate between the plate material processing machine 1 and the plate material carry-out section 3. Each of the traveling members 13, 14 has plate material holding means 16 holding a plate material W on the plate material processing machine 1. Further, while one of the traveling members 13, 14 is traveling from the plate material processing machine 1 toward the plate material carry-out section 3, the other of the traveling members 13, 14 allows the plate material holding means 16 to hold the plate material W on the plate material processing machine 1.
Description
- The present invention relates to a plate material carry-out device that carries out plate materials processed by a plate material processing machine such as a punch press or a laser processing machine.
- Plate material processing machines such as punch presses perform various processing operations including an operation of cutting a plurality of product plate materials out of a raw plate material by means of punching and an operation of forming a hole in a single plate material. The product plate materials processed by the plate material processing machine are carried out to a predetermined plate material carry out section by a plate material carry-out device.
The plate material carry-out device described in the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2003-136166 is designed so that the plate holding means of the traveling member can be expanded and contracted in a traveling direction so as to deal with the various sizes of product plate materials.
- Another plate material carry-out device has been proposed which has a plurality or traveling members that travel on an endless circling track to prevent a possible delay in carrying out plate materials requiring only a short processing time, thus improving cycle time (the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2000-351032).
- With the plate material carry-out device using the single traveling member that reciprocates between the plate material processing machine and the plate material carry-out section, where the plate material processing machine requires a shorter time to process each plate material, the time required for the reciprocation may be longer than the time required to process a product plate material. In this case, each time one plate material is processed, the plate material processing machine must wait until the traveling member of the plate material carry-out device returns. This makes it impossible to take advantage of the processing capacity of the plate material processing machine and increases the cycle time. To improve the cycle time, it is necessary to increase the traveling speed of the traveling member and to reduce the time required for acceleration and deceleration. However, in the plate material carry-out device shown in the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2003-1316166, the plate holding means can be expanded and contracted so as to be able to deal with the various sizes of product plate materials. Thus, the traveling member and the plate material holding means are heavy, making it difficult to increase the traveling speed. A reduction in the size and weight of the traveling member allows the traveling speed to be increased. However, a simple reduction in the size and weight of the traveling member prevents large-sized product plate materials from bring carried out.
- Carry-out operations can be more efficiency performed by the plate material carry-out device shown in the Unexamined Japanese Patent Application Publication (Tokkai) No. 2000-351032 and using the plurality of traveling members traveling on the circling track. This plate material carry-out device also allows the plurality of traveling members to hold a single product plate material, and can thus deal with large-sized product plate materials. However, since the plurality of traveling members travel on the circling track, it is difficult to configure a means for supplying power to each traveling member and a means for supplying air for suction pads. The power source system requires the use or a trolley or the like, complicating a power source facility, and stably supplying power is difficult. Further, a problem with transmission and reception of control signals to and from each traveling member needs to be solved. For air supply, air cannot be fed from a position-fixed air source to the plurality of traveling members, performing circulating operations. This results in the need to mount a pump on each traveling member. Mounting a pump on each traveling member complicates the configuration and increases facility costs. This also increases the weight of the traveling member, hindering fast traveling.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a plate material carry-out device that can prevent a possible delay in carrying out a plate material even if the plate material requires only a short processing time, thus improving the cycle time, the plate material carry-out device also requiring only a simple configuration. Another object of the present invention is to enable an operation of carrying out a plate material located off a traveling member track on a plate material processing machine and to enable traveling members on a plurality of tracks to cooperatively carry out a plate material. Yet another object of the present invention is to perform effective control for improving the cycle time.
- Thus, the present invention prevents a possible delay in carrying out the plate material even if the plate material requires only a short processing time, allowing the cycle time to be improved.
- Further, each traveling member is installed on the corresponding track so as to be able to reciprocate along the track. Consequently, the traveling member can be supplied with power and air from a power source and an air source which are installed at fixed positions, through a flexible cable and piping. This simplifies the configuration of the supply system for energy sources.
- In the present invention, preferably, the plate material holding means or at least one of the traveling members is provided so as to be movable forward and backward in a horizontal direction orthogonal to a traveling direction, and is able to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine located off the track for the traveling member in the orthogonal horizontal direction. Where the plurality or tracks are installed parallel to one another, any of the tracks may be forced to lie away from a position where a processed plate material on the plate material processing machine stands by. However, when the plate material holding means can move in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the traveling direction or the traveling member, the traveling members on all the tracks can use the plate material holding means to hold the processed plate material on the plate material processing machine, at the predetermined position where the processed plate material stands by.
- This enables the plurality of tracks to be provided such that the traveling member on each of the tracks can carry out a plate material. Further, when the plate material holding means can move in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the traveling direction, it is possible to easily avoid the interference between the plate material holding means of the traveling members during traveling.
- In the present invention, the plate material carry-out device may have an independent carry-out control means (22) for performing control such that while one of the traveling members is traveling, the other traveling members allow the plate material holding means to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine. Where the plate material carry-out device has the independent carry-out control means (22) for performing control such that while one of the traveling members is traveling, the other traveling members allow the plate material holding means to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine, it is possible to effectively utilize the configuration in accordance with the present invention in which the traveling members are independently installed on the plurality of parallel tracks, to further improve the cycle time.
- In the present invention, the plate material carry-out device may have a plural traveling member-cooperation control means (23) for controlling the traveling members and plate material holding members so that the plate material holding members of a plurality of the traveling members hold a single plate material and travel to carry out the plate material. Large-sized plate materials can be carried out by thus allowing the plate material holding means of the plurality of traveling members to hold and convey a single plate material. Thus, plate materials of various sizes can be carried out by switching between a carry-out operation by a single traveling member and cooperative transfer.
- The plural-traveling-member cooperation control means (23) may have a pullout and cooperative transfer control section (24) that executes a series of control processes including a process of allowing one of the traveling members to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine and to pull out the plate material in a track direction, using the plate holding means, a process of allowing another traveling member to hold the pulled-out plate material using the plate material holding means, and a process of allowing both the traveling members to travel to transfer the plate material held by the plate material holding means of both the traveling members. A plate material completely processed by the plate material processing machine and waiting to be carried out may be largely hidden under processing means of the plate material processing machine, for example, a turret of a turret punch press. In this case, the plate material needs to be pulled out, but where only a portion of the plate material which is exposed from the processing means is gripped and the plate material is then pulled out and transferred as it is, the posture of the held plate material may be unbalanced.
- The plate material may thus fall. However, stable transfer can be achieved by providing the pullout and cooperative transfer control section (24) to allow one of the traveling members to pull out the plate material on the plate material processing machine and to then allow another traveling member to hold a different portion of the plate material so that both traveling members can hold and transfer the plate material.
Thus, the present invention prevents a possible delay in carrying out the material even if the material requires only a short processing time, allowing the cycle time to be improved. The present invention can achieve this using the simple configuration.
- Where the plate material holding means of at least one of the traveling members is provided so as to be movable forward and backward in the horizontal direction orthogonal to the traveling direction, and is able to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine located off the track for the traveling member in the orthogonal horizontal direction, the plate material located off the track for the traveling member on the plate material processing machine can be carried out. Further, the traveling members on the plurality of tracks can carry out the plate material.
- When the plate material carry-out device has the independent carry out control means for performing control such that while one of the traveling members is traveling, the other traveling members allow the plate material holding means to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine, effective control can be performed so as to improve the cycle time.
- Where the plate material carry-out device has the plural traveling member-cooperation control means for controlling the traveling members and plate material holding members so that the plate material holding members of a plurality of the traveling members hold a single plate material and travel to carry out the plate material, plate materials of various sizes can be carried out.
- Where the plural traveling member-cooperation control means has the pullout and cooperative transfer control section that executes the series of control processes including the process of allowing one of the traveling members to hold the plate material on the plate material processing machine and to pull out the plate material in the track direction, using the plate holding means, the process of allowing another traveling member to hold the pulled-out plate material using the plate material holding means, and the process of allowing both the traveling members to travel to transfer the plate material held by the plate material holding means of both the traveling members, it is possible to stably carry out even such a plate material as is largely hidden under the processing means of the late material processing machine.

plate material stocker 4 is a device in which the product plate materials W stacked by the plate material carry-outsection 3 are stored together with thepallet 9. Theplate material stocker 4 has a stockermain body 4 a having a large number of shelves and anelevator 4 b that loads and unloads the product plate materials W onto and from any shelf. - The plate material carry-out
device 2 carries out the product plate materials W, the processed plate materials W, out of the platematerial processing machine 1 to the plate material carry-outsection 3. The plate material carry-outdevice 2 comprises a plurality of (in the illustrated example, two) tracks 11, 12 installed parallel to each other between the platematerial processing machine 1 and the plate material carry-outsection 3, and a plurality of (in the illustrated example, two) travelingmembers tracks tracks common frame 15 at the opposite ends thereof. - Each of the traveling
members material processing machine 1. While one of the travelingmembers material processing machine 1 toward the plate material carry-outsection 3, the other of the travelingmembers material processing machine 1. -
FIG. 6 is an enlarged side view of the rearside traveling member 14. The configuration of the frontside traveling member 13 is similar to that of the rearside traveling member 13. The travelingmembers tracks members - The plate material holding means 16 has a
movable frame 17 installed on the travelingmember suction pads 18 installed on themovable frame 17. Themovable frame 17 is made of an arm-like member extending in a forward-backward direction. - In the embodiment, a plurality of (in the illustrated example, two)
movable frames 17 are provided parallel to each other. Eachmovable frame 17 is driven forward and backward by a forward and backward movement driving source (not shown in the drawings) mounted on each of the travelingmembers movable frame 17 forward and backward or move bothmovable frames 17 forward and backward together. The forward and backward movement driving source is made of an electric motor or the like. The forward and backward movement driving source may also be a cylinder device. For the frontside traveling member 13, the plate material holding means 16 need not necessarily be movable forward and backward. - In the present embodiment, each of the
suction pads 18 is made of a bundle of a plurality ofunit suction pads 18 a each connected to a vacuum source via a throttling path. Even if any of thesuction pads 18 are not in contact with an object to be sucked such as the product plate material W, thesuction pads 18 can suck the object. Instead of being formed into a bundle as described above, eachsuction pad 18 as a whole may constitute a single negative pressure section. - The plate material holding means 16 is composed that the
suction pads 18 can be elevated and lowered with respect to the travelingmember suction pads 18, theindividual suction pads 18 are installed on themovable frame 17 via respective elevating and loweringdevices 19. Instead of the elevating and loweringdevice 19 individually elevating and lowering thesuction pads 18, themovable frame 17 may be installed so as to be able to elevate and lower relative to the travelingmember - The positional relationship and so on between the two traveling
members tracks material processing machine 1 always processes a final cutaway portion of the product plate material W at a predetermined position (for example, a punch position P). Accordingly, the product plate material W on the platematerial processing machine 1 waiting to be carried out is always located at the same position. However, the same position where the product plate material W is always located is one point on the outer periphery of the product plate material W. The center position of the product plate material W varies depending on the size or shape of the product plate material W. - The front
side traveling member 13 having its plate material holding means 16 located at a reference position in a forward-backward moving direction can suck the product plate material W standing by at the predetermined position. The rearside traveling member 14 having its plate material holding means 16 moved forward to a forward end can suck the product plate material W standing by at the predetermined position in the platematerial processing machine 1. Further, when the rearside traveling member 14 having its plate material holding means 16 moved forward passes the frontside traveling member 13 in the traveling direction, the plate material holding means 16 interferes with the frontside traveling member 13. However, with the plate material holding means 16 of the rearside traveling member 14 moved backward to the rearward end, the front side and rearside traveling members member 13. The dimensions of the front side and rearside traveling members members - A control system will be described with reference to
FIG. 8 andFIG. 9 . - The plate material carry-out
device 2 is controlled by atransfer control device 21. Thetransfer control device 21 comprises a computer and a transfer program that is executed by the computer. An independent carry-out control means 22 and a plural traveling member-cooperation control means 23 described below are configured on the basis of the program contents or the transfer program. - The independent carry-out control means 22 independently controls the traveling
members members members members material processing machine 1. - The plural traveling member-cooperation control means 23 controls the traveling
members members members - The plural traveling member-cooperation control means 23 has a pullout and cooperative
transfer control section 24. The pullout and cooperativetransfer control section 24 performs control shown in the flowchart inFIG. 9 (the control will be described later in detail also with reference toFIG. 7 ), that is, the control for the following steps. That is, the pullout and cooperativetransfer control section 24 performs a series of control operations including the step (step S1 inFIG. 9 ) in which the plate material holding means 16 of the travelingmember 13 holds and pulls out the product plate material W on the platematerial processing machine 1 in a track direction (X direction), the step (S2) in which the other travelingmember 14 allows the plate member holding means 16 thereof to hold the pulled-out product plate material W, and the step (S3) in which both travelingmembers means - The operation of the above configuration will be described. As shown in
FIG. 2 , when the frontside traveling member 13 sucks the product plate material W on the platematerial processing machine 1, the rearside traveling member 14 stands by near the frontside traveling member 13. As shown inFIG. 3 , the frontside traveling member 13 gripping the product plate material W travels to the plate material carry-outsection 3 to place the product plate material W on thepallet 9 of the plate material carry-outsection 3. After placing the product plate material W on the pal let 9, the frontside traveling member 13 returns to the platematerial processing machine 1. While the frontside traveling member 13 is carrying out the product plate material W and returning to the platematerial processing machine 1, the rearside traveling member 14 moves theframe 17 of the plate material holding means 16 forward and allows thesuction pad 18 to hold and raise the product plate material W as shown inFIG. 3 . - As shown in
FIG. 4 , the rearside traveling member 14 holding the product plate material W moves theframe 17 backward and travels toward the plate material carry-outsection 3. This allows the frontside traveling member 13 returning from the plate material holding means 3 to the platematerial processing machine 1 and the rearside traveling member 14 traveling to the plate material holding means 3 to pass each other without interfering with each other. The plate material carry outsection 3 moves thepallet 9 backward so as to be able to receive the product plate material W conveyed by the rearside traveling member 14. - Upon returning to the plate
material processing machine 1, the frontside traveling member 13 carries out the next product plate material W to the plate material carry-outsection 3 and then returns to a standby position near the platematerial processing machine 1. Further, the rearside traveling member 14 carries out the product plate material W to the plate material carry-outsection 3 and then returns to the standby position near the platematerial processing machine 1. Thus, the two travelingmembers -
FIG. 5 shows an operation in which the two travelingmembers side traveling members member FIG. 5 , the large-sized product plate material W can be carried out by allowing both travelingmembers members members members members FIG. 8 , controls the operation in which the two travelingmembers -
FIG. 7 shows an operation performed when the product plate material W is hidden. Where the product plate material W is small enough to be largely hidden under theturret 6 or the like of theprocessing section 7 as shown inFIG. 7A , the product plate material W cannot be held by the plate material holding means 16 in a well-balanced manner. In this case, as shown inFIG. 7A , the plate material holding means 16 of the travelingmember 13 grips a part of the product plate material W which is exposed from theprocessing section 7. Then, as shown inFIG. 7B , the plate material holding means 16 pulls out the product plate material W on the table 5 so as to expose the whole product plate material W (step S1 inFIG. 9 ). - Subsequently, the pulled-out and exposed part of the product plate material W is held by the plate material holding means 16 of the other traveling member 14 (
step 2 inFIG. 9 ). With the whole product plate material W thus held by the two travelingmembers members processing section 7, the whole product plate material W can be held in a well-balanced manner and stably transferred. - In the above embodiment, the plate material holding means 16 of both traveling
members material processing machine 1 need not necessarily be movable forward and backward. However, when both travelingmembers suction pads 18, shifting the forward-backward position of the plate material holding means 16 allows thesuction pad 18 to lie away from the hole or shape forming portion of the product plate material W, enabling stable suction. - While the present invention has been described with respect to preferred embodiments thereof, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the disclosed invention may be modified in numerous ways and may assume many embodiments other than those specifically set out and described above. Accordingly, it is intented by the appended claims to cover all modifications of the present invention that fall within the true spirit and scope of the invention.
