Abstract

A pillow has two bodies, a connector and a fastener. Each body has an inner surface, an outer surface, a distal end, a proximal end and an internal space. The connector combines the proximal ends of the bodies. The fastener is mounted on and selectively fastens the distal ends of the bodies together. When a user takes a nap, the user can attach the bodies to his arm by the fastener and pillow his head on the body.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a pillow, and especially to a pillow that supports a user's head on the pillow during a nap.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • With reference to FIGS. 9 and 10, a conventional pillow (50) comprises a body (51) made of a soft material and a through hole (52). The through hole (52) is defined through the pillow (50). A user can support his/her head on the body (51) and pass through the through hole (52) with an arm. Therefore, the softer body (51) is comfortable for the user, when the user takes a nap.
  • However, the size of the through hole (52) is invariable so that massive arm, especially an adult's arm being thicker than a child's arm, does not easily pass through the through hole (52). Furthermore, the through hole (52) is hardly cleaned.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The objective of the present invention is to provide a pillow that supports a user's head on the pillow during a nap.
  • To achieve the foregoing objective, a pillow in accordance with the present invention has two bodies, a connector and a fastener. Each body has an inner surface, an outer surface, a distal end, a proximal end and an internal space. The connector combines the proximal ends of the bodies. The fastener is mounted on and selectively fastens the distal ends of the bodies together. When a user takes a nap, he/she can attach the bodies to his/her arm by the fastener and support his/her head on the body.
  • Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of a pillow in accordance with the present invention;

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3 and 5 to 8, a pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention comprises two bodies (11), a connector (12, 12′) and a fastener.
  • Each body (11) comprises an inner surface, an outer surface, a distal end, a proximal end, an internal space (30) and a zipper (16) and is inflatable. At least one of the bodies (11) comprises a ventilator (19) with a plug. The internal space (30) is defined in the body (11). In a first embodiment of the pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention, the zipper (16) is mounted on the distal end and the internal space (30) is filled with cotton or other plastic material. In a second embodiment of the pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention, the ventilator (19) with a plug is defined through the inner surface and communicates with the internal space (30) and the internal space (30) can be filled with air. A user can pump air into the internal space (30) of the body (11) to support his/her head on the inflated body (11).
  • The connector (12, 12′) combines the proximal ends of the bodies (11). In a third and fourth embodiments of the pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention, the connector (12′) is a belt. Furthermore, in the third embodiment of the pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention, the connector (12′) comprises a windpipe (121′). The windpipe (121′) extends in the proximal ends of the bodies (11) and comprises a through hole (31) defined in the windpipe (121′) and communicating with the internal spaces (30) of the bodies (11).
  • The fastener is mounted on and selectively fastens the distal ends of the bodies (11) together. In the first and fourth embodiments of the pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention, the fastener comprises a strap (13) and first and second buckle elements (14, 15). The strap (13) extends from the outer surface of one of the bodies (11) and comprises an inner surface and a distal end. The first buckle element (14) is mounted on the inner surface adjacent to the distal end of the strap (13). The second buckle element (15) is mounted on the outer surface of the other body (11) and is attached detachably to the first buckle element (14). In a fifth embodiment of the pillow (10) in accordance with the present invention, the fastener comprises a strap (13) and a button (18). The strap (13) extends from the outer surface of one of the body (11) and comprises an inner surface, a distal end and a through hole (17). The through hole (17) is defined in the strap (13) adjacent to the distal end. The button (18) is mounted on the inner surface of the other body (11) and corresponds to the through hole (17) in the strap (13) so the button (18) can be engaged with the through hole (17) in the strap (13). In the second and third embodiments of the pillow (10) of the present invention, the fastener is multiple male and female buckles (20, 21) respectively mounted on the inner surfaces of the bodies (11) adjacent to the distal end. The male buckles (20) correspond to and detachably engage with the female buckles (21).
  • With reference to FIG. 4, after unfolding the bodies (11), a user can put his/her arm (60) on one of the bodies (11) and set the other body (11) on the arm (60) by folding the connector (12). Then the buckle element (14) on the strap (13) sticks on the buckle element (15) on the body (11) so the bodies (11) can be attached around the arm (60). When the user takes a nap, the user can support his/her head on the body (11).
  • Because the bodies (11) can be fastened around an arm of a user with the fastener, the pillow (10) can fit with arms with different sizes and is versatile in use. Furthermore, the pillow (10) can be unfolded to expose the inner surfaces of the bodies (11) so that cleaning the pillow (10) is convenient for the user.
  • Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims (14)

1. A pillow comprising
two bodies and each body having
an inner surface;
an outer surface;
a distal end;
a proximal end; and
an internal space defined in the body;
a connector combining the proximal ends of the bodies; and
a fastener mounted on the distal ends of the bodies and selectively fastening the distal ends of the bodies together.
2. The pillow as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fastener comprises
a strap extending from the outer surface of one of the bodies and having
an inner surface; and
a distal end;
a first buckle element; and
a second buckle element; and
wherein the first buckle element is mounted on the inner surface on one of the bodies and the second buckle element is mounted on the outer surface of the other body and is attached detachably to the first buckle element.
3. The pillow as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fastener comprises
a strap extending from the outer surface of one of the bodies and having
an inner surface;
a distal end; and
a through hole defined through the strap adjacent to the distal end; and
a button mounted on the inner surface of the other body and corresponding to and selectively engaging with the through hole in the strap.
4. The pillow as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fastener is multiple male and female buckles respectively mounted on the inner surfaces of the bodies and the male buckles correspond to and detachably engage with the female buckles.
5. The pillow as claimed in claim 1, wherein each body comprises a zipper mounted on the distal end.
6. The pillow as claimed in claim 2, wherein each body comprises a zipper mounted on the distal end.
7. The pillow as claimed in claim 5, wherein the connector is a belt connecting with the bodies together.
8. The pillow as claimed in claim 6, wherein the connector is a belt connecting with the bodies together.
9. The pillow as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one of the bodies has a ventilator defined through the inner surface and communicating with the internal space.
10. The pillow as claimed in claim 2, wherein at least one of the bodies has a ventilator defined through the inner surface and communicating with the internal space.
11. The pillow as claimed in claim 9, wherein the connector is a belt connecting with the bodies together.
12. The pillow as claimed in claim 10, wherein the connector is a belt connecting with the bodies together.
13. The pillow as claimed in claim 11, wherein the connector comprises a windpipe extending in the proximal ends of the bodies and having a through hole defined in the windpipe and communicating with the internal spaces of the bodies.
14. The pillow as claimed in claim 12, wherein the connector comprises a windpipe extending in the proximal ends of the bodies and having a hole defined in the windpipe and communicating with the internal spaces of the bodies.
