Another object of my improvements is to furnish special hanging and securing'means for the end plates to mount them upon a wall surface, in a convenient, durable manner, which will also permit them to be disassembled in any number from the securing means when desired, as in adding other sections thereto or effecting a rearrangement of the sections and header plates.

These objects I have accomplished in actual reduction to practice by the means which are hereinafter described and claimed, and which are illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a front elevation of my invention as completely assembled, and Fig. 2 is a side or edge elevation thereof, partly in elevation and partly in vertical section.

' My invention is particularly designed and intended for use as a permanent memorial tablet, whose headers and assembled sections therebetween may have thereon related inscriptions or symbols upon the headers, with inscribed names having other or related data upon the sections,

as will be described hereinafter, and which may be also varied in other ways'without departing from the invention, as the appended claims will top edge mental shape having a top semicircular pro-v jection 2 upon which may be'shown a symbol 3 or other device or inscription, and the main body of-the plate may bear any kind of inscription 4 desiredfor hearing some relation in meaning to the symbol 3.

While the rectangular sections 5 are shown as of the same-shape and size, they also may be varied in these regards, while preserving otherwise their mechanical assembled relation to each other and to the top and bottom header plates I and 6 according to, this invention.

The bottom header plate 6 may also be varied in size and shape, as in ornamentation, and may have an inscription thereon, as denoted at l, which may relate in meaning to the inscriptions upon the top header plate I and to those upon the sections 5.

Particularly, the invention may be used as a commemorative tablet to be mounted upon a building or other structure, as to be a memorial to deceased members of a society or brotherhood, whereby the names of other such members may be added from time to time, by the addition for each of another section 5, to the preceding plurality of sections.

Referring to said Fig. 2, each section 5 has an integral apertured lug set off at the rear at 8 and projecting upwardly near each end to overlap the abutting rear surface of the section above, or the header plate I, and the overlapped parts are provided with alined holes threaded to receive a header flush screw 9.

By this means the header plates and intermediately assembled sections 5 are all in a single tier, front faces in one plane and the rear faces of the lugs 8 in a single parallel plane, so that the device may be mounted flatly upon a wall face as a structural element thereof permanently, and without projecting parts forwardly, and with all the lugs bearing against the wall.

Any suitable means may be used for releasably mounting the device upon a supporting structure, other than that shown. The numeral 10 denotes screws fitted in threaded holes in or near the corners of the pair of header plates I and 6 and for insertion in the supporting structure, and the numeral ll denotes headed ornamental plugs having a short stem in each case fitted into the forward part of each said screw hole in advance of the headless screw Ill therein. These headed elements ll thus serve as ornamental bosses.

The assemblage of headers and sections is rigid with tight fitting joints, and other sections may be added after removing either header plate.

I claim:

1. A device of the class described, comprising in combination, header plates spaced apart for carrying insignia or inscriptions, and a plurality of like filler plates therebetween for receiving inscriptions and. alined therewith with their inscription receiving faces in a single plane, and with abutting edges, and clamping and screw means for separably connecting said elements together.

2. A device of the class described, comprising in combination, header plates spaced apart for carrying insignia or inscriptions, a plurality of filler plates therebetween for receiving inscrlptions and alined therewith with their inscription receiving faces substantially in a single plane and with abutting angle props in the' rear with their rear faces in a single plane, means for separably rigidly connecting said elements together, and other means for fastening the device upon a supporting structure.

3. A device of the class described, comprising,

and angular seating and fastening means for securing said elements together in a rigid upright assemblage releasably, permitting addition of other filler plates to the assemblage or subtraction of the plates therefrom from time to time.

A device of the class described, comprising in combination, header plates, a plurality of rec tangular inscription receiving filler plates with engaging joints between them and between certain of them and the header plates, the front faces of all the plates being in alinement, all the plates being apertured, each of the plates below the top header plate having rearwardly ofiset lugs projecting upwardly to contact with the rear face of the plate above, said lugs being apertured with apertures registering with the apertures of the plates above, and screw fastening means removably seated in said alined apertures to connect the overlapped plates and lugs together rigidly, the rear faces of the lugs being in the same plane, and the ends of said fastening means flush respectively with the front faces of the plates and with the rear faces of the lugs. I

A device of the class described, comprising in combination, a plurality of inscription receiving elements assembled in a congeries and rigidly separably secured together at abutting edges to present their frontfaces in a common plane, whereby additional inscription receiving elements may be assembled therewith from time to time, certain of the elements having offset rear lugs contacting with overlying abutting elements with the rear faces of the lugs in the same plane, and means for separablyrigidly connecting said lugs to the contacting elements at interlocked joints.
