Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a double floor with a decorative plate.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Here, the term “double floor” means a structure for applying a double floor to an original floor face to accommodate wires below the double floor, namely, between the double floor and the original floor face, in order to arrange wires for a computer and the like below the double floor.
- Many kinds of structures have been developed for the double floor, and such a double floor whose surface is attached with a woody decorative plate to provide a relaxed atmosphere to indoor has been developed. One example of the related arts is disclosed in the Japanese unexamined patent publication No. JP-2003-3654A.
- A double floor with decorative plate attached with a woody decorative plate such as described above includes the following problems:
- 1. It is desired to draw a wire arranged below the double floor out of an arbitrary position as much as possible according to arrangement of business disk and equipment.
- 2. In that case, when the double floor is a steel-made one, it is relatively easy to provide a small opening for drawing out a wire at an arbitrary position.
- 3. However, when a woody decorative plate is attached on a steel-made base, it is difficult to notch the woody decorative plate and the steel plate simultaneously, which results in loss in flexibility for drawing out a wire such as obtained in the steel-made double floor.
- 4. Thus, the double floor obtained by attaching a woody decorative plate on a steel-made base provides a relaxed atmosphere to the eye and presents graceful atmosphere but it includes such a problem that it is difficult to draw a wire out of an arbitrary position.
- In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides a double floor with a decorative plate, comprising a base unit, a corner plate, and a channel plate that are each made of a steel-made plate member, or steel plate, a surface of the steel plate being attached with a woody decorative plate, wherein the base unit includes a steel-made top plate with an octagon obtained by cutting four corner portions from a square plate and leg plates provided around the top plate, a receiving stand which slightly projects from the decorative plate on the steel-made top plate is formed around the steel-made top plate, the base units are arranged at constant spacing on a floor to constitute the spacing as wiring spacing, the corner plate is a lid for covering an octagonal space defined by corner portions of four base units laid at the constant spacing, an engaging edge obtained by causing the decorative plate on the steel plate to slightly project is formed around the steel plate, the channel plate is a rectangular lid for covering a groove defined by two base units laid at the constant spacing, a claw projecting outside the decorative plate is formed on a face of the corner plate contacting with the base unit by extending one portion of the steel plate, and two cutoff lines are formed on a portion of the decorative plate contacting with the claw, so that the claw of the steel plate and a portion of the decorative plate positioned between the cutoff lines can be removed according to necessity.
- Since the double floor with a decorative plate of the present invention has been constituted as explained above, the following advantages can be obtained:
- 1. Since a double floor with a woody decorative plate attached on a steel-made base provides a relaxed atmosphere to the eye and presents graceful atmosphere, it is optimal to lay the double floor in, especially, a reception room or an executive suite.
- 2. On the other hand, since inconspicuous thin cutoff lines are provided on one portion of the steel-made base and a portion of the woody decorative plate corresponding thereto, a small opening can be provided by bending the steel-made base at its required portion and removing a portion of the woody decorative plate surrounded with the cutoff lines using a chisel.
- 3. Accordingly, such an object that wires can be drawn out of relatively free positions, while exclusive air is being maintained, which is difficult to achieve in the conventional double floor with a decorative plate, can be achieved.
- A better understanding of the present invention will be had when reference is made to the accompanying drawings, wherein identical parts are identified by identical reference numbers and wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing a state where a double floor with a decorative plate of the present invention has been laid; -

base unit 1 includes a steel-made base, where a woodydecorative plate 11 is attached on a surface of the steel-made base. - The steel-made base is constituted of an octagonal steel-made
top plate 12 formed by cutting corner portions of a square plate, andleg plates 13 provided around thetop plate 12. - The
leg plates 13 are plates serving as legs of thetop plate 12. - A surface of the double floor is disposed at a position higher than an original floor face by a height of the
leg plates 13. - The steel-made
top plate 12 and the woodydecorative plate 11 are not the same in size, but both plates are similar, where the woodydecorative plate 11 is slightly smaller than the steel-plate top plate 12. - As a result, a reception stand 14 slightly projecting from the decorative plate on the steel-made
top plate 12 is formed around the steel-madetop plate 12. - The
corner plate 2 or thechannel plate 3 described below is placed on thereception stand 14. - 3. Spacing for Wiring
- The
base units 1 described above are laid on a floor face via a constant spacing regarding front and rear directions and left and right directions. - The spacing between
adjacent base units 1 formed is utilized as a space for wiring. - 4. Corner Plate (See
FIG. 3 ) - The
corner plate 2 is a lid for covering an octagonal space formed by corner portions of fourbase units 1 laid via the spacing. - The
corner plate 2 is obtained by attaching a woodydecorative plate 22 on a surface of a flat plate made from steel, namely, asteel plate 21. - The
steel plate 21 is an octagonal plate member obtained by cutting corner portions of a square plate and it includes no leg plate. - The
steel plate 21 and the woodydecorative plate 22 are not the same in size, but both plates are similar, where the woodydecorative plate 22 is slightly larger than thesteel plate 21. - As a result, an
engaging edge 23 obtained by extending one portion of thedecorative plate 22 so as to slightly project from thesteel plate 21 is formed around thesteel plate 21. - 5. Connection of
Corner Plate 2 and Base Unit 1 (SeeFIG. 5 ) - A
claw 24 is provided on a side of thecorner plate 2 and an engaging groove is provided on a side of thebase unit 1 in order to connect thecorner plate 2 and thebase unit 1. - That is, the
claw 24 projecting outside the decorative plate is formed on a face of thecorner plate 2 contacting with thebase unit 1 by extending one portion of the steel plate. - A root portion of the
claw 24 is formed as anarrow neck portion 25, so that cutting is easily made at theneck portion 25 by raising theclaw 24 using a pair of pliers or the like. - The
claw 24 can be removed from thesteel plate 21 by performing cutting at theneck portion 25. - On the other, a
window roof portion 15 is formed in thebase unit 1 by cutting a lower portion of a side of thedecorative plate 11 positioned adjacent to acorner plate 2 in a recessed manner. - A
drawing hole 16 is formed by cutting a portion of the steel plate positioned below thewindow roof portion 15 in a semi-circular shape. - Engaging
claws 17 are formed on an edge portion of the steel plate defining thedrawing hole 16 in a projecting manner. - The engaging
claws 17 of a side of thebase unit 1 are engaged with theclaw 24 of thecorner plate 2, so that thecorner plate 2 and thebase unit 1 can be engaged with each other. - 6. Cutoff Lines in Decorative Plate
- Even if the
claw 24 is removed by cutting at thenecked portion 25 from thecorner plate 2, thedecorative plate 22 on thesteel plate 21 remains. - Therefore, two
cutoff lines 26 are formed on a portion of thedecorative plate 22 on theclaw 24 corresponding to a position of theclaw 24 in a cutting manner. - With such a constitution, a portion of the
decorative plate 22 positioned between the cutoff lines 26 can be easily removed by knocking a chisel in a root portion between twocutoff lines 26. - 7.
Channel Plate 3 - The
channel plate 3 is a rectangular lid for covering a groove defined by twoadjacent base units 1 laid via the spacing. - Therefore, the
channel plate 3 is constituted by attaching a woodydecorative plate 32 on asteel plate 31. - The
channel plate 3 can be disposed between thebase units 1 by placing thechannel plate 3 on thereception plates 14 of thebase units 1 formed so as to project outside. - 8. Arrangement of Respective Units
- Next, a method for placing a double floor will be explained.

base units 1. - 9. Drawing-Out of Wire From Corner (See
FIG. 6 ) - When a wire within the passage for a wire covered by the
channel plate 3 should be drawn out on a surface of the double floor, the wire is drawn out at a position of thecorner plate 2. - In that case, as described above, the
claw 24 projecting outside thedecorative plate 22 is formed on a face of thecorner plate 2 contacting with thebase unit 1 by extending one portion of thesteel plate 21. - The root portion of the
claw 24 is formed as anarrow neck portion 25, so that cutting is easily made at theneck portion 25 by raising theclaw 24 using a pair of pliers. - Therefore, the
claw 24 is removed by cutting thenecked portion 24 from thecorner plate 2 from which a wire should be drawn out. - On the other hand, as described above, two
cutoff lines 26 corresponding to the position of theclaw 24 are formed in a portion of thedecorative plate 22 positioned on theclaw 24 in a cutting manner. - Therefore, a portion of the
decorative plate 22 positioned between the twocutoff lines 26 is removed by knocking a chisel in the portion surrounded with twocutoff lines 26. - The
drawing hole 16 below thewindow roof portion 15 of thebase unit 1 and a removed portion from thedecorative plate 22 of thecorner plate 2 are put in communication with each other by removing a portion of thedecorative plate 22. - A wire within the double floor is drawn out on a floor face of the double floor via the communication portion.
- Thus, in the double floor attached with a decorative plate, a wire can be easily drawn out of a
corner plate 2 at a required position. - It is readily apparent that the above-described invention has the advantages of wide commercial utility. It may be understood that the specific form of the invention hereinabove described is intended to be representative only, and certain modifications within the scope of those teachings will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
