Abstract
A hand covering with a removably attached attachment is described herein. A glove has a base portion attached to it, with a zipper pad attached to the base portion. An attachment, which can be a hair brush, is removably attached to the zipper pad.
Description
- A. Field of Invention
- This invention pertains to the art of methods and apparatuses of removable attachments, and more particularly to hand-held, removable attachments, and even more particularly to a glove having a selectively removable brush attachment.
- B. Definitions
- To assist the reader in understanding the description of this invention, the definitions of the following terms should be noted.
- Attachment device—any device which allows the connection of two items, or two sides of an item to each other.
- Hand covering—an item to cover the hand, which may or may not have separate sections for the fingers and the thumb. The covering will at least partially cover the back and palm of the associated wearer's hand.
- Removably attached—attached in such a way that it can be relatively easily removed and re-attached.
- Selectively removably attached—attached in such a way that it can be relatively easily removed and re-attached in increments.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a brushing device includes a glove, the glove having a palm portion, a base, the base fixedly attached to the palm of the glove, a zipper pad, the zipper pad selectively, removably attached to the base, and a brush portion, the brush portion selectively, removably attached to the zipper pad.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, a hand covering includes a palm portion and an attachment device for removably receiving an associated attachment, the attachment device being attached to the palm portion.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment device is selectively removable from the palm portion.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment device is selectively, adjustably, removable from the palm portion.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the hand covering further includes a base portion, the base portion being attached to the palm portion, and the attachment device being attached to the base portion.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the hand covering further includes an attachment, the attachment attached to the attachment device.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment is selectively removable from the attachment device.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment is chosen from the group comprising: hair brush, lint brush, sand paper, chamois cloth, sponge, buffer, cloth, wire brush, and cleaning brush.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment device is chosen from the group comprising: zipper, snaps, buttons, hook-an-eye fasteners, and clasps.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment device is a zipper.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the attachment is a hair brush.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the hand covering further includes a top portion, the top portion fitting over the attachment device.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the hand covering further includes a bottom opening, a tube, the tube connected to the hand covering through the bottom opening, the tube ending substantially in the middle of the palm portion.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, a glove includes a palm portion, a base portion, the base portion being attached to the palm portion, an attachment device, the attachment device being selectively, removably attached to the base portion, and an attachment, the attachment attached to the attachment device.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the base portion and the attachment are substantially flexible.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the glove further includes a tube, the tube connected to the attachment through an opening in the glove, and a soap dispenser, the soap dispenser located in the palm portion.
- Still other benefits and advantages of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art to which it pertains upon a reading and understanding of the following detailed specification.
- The invention may take physical form in certain parts and arrangement of parts, at least one embodiment of which will be described in detail in this specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof and wherein:

FIG. 14 is a perspective view of a holding member. - Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for purposes of illustrating at least one embodiment of the invention only and not for purposes of limiting the same,
FIGS. 1-7 show theinventive device 10,glove 12,base portion 14,zipper pad 16, opening 18,fingers 20,attachment 22, bristles 24, cloth 26, andpalm portion 28. In this embodiment, thedevice 10 consists of aglove 12, which allows anattachment 22 to be selectively removably attached to theglove 12. In this embodiment, as shown inFIGS. 1 and 5 , thebase portion 14 is permanently attached to thepalm portion 28 of theglove 12. In this embodiment, thebase portion 14 is sewn on to thepalm portion 28, but it is to be understood that thebase portion 14 can be attached to theglove 12 in any manner, including removably and selectively removably, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment. Thebase portion 14, in this embodiment, is a rigid piece of plastic, but can be either rigid or flexible, and can be any type of material that would serve as a base, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment. Thezipper pad 16 is then attached to thebase portion 14. In this embodiment, thezipper pad 16 has alower zipper portion 42 that circumscribes thezipper pad 16. Thelower zipper portion 42 mates with an upper zipper portion 44, which circumscribes theattachment 22. Theattachment 22 is selectively removably attached to thezipper pad 16 byzipper portions 42, 44. - In this embodiment, the
attachment 22 is a brush having bristles 24. Once theattachment 22 has been attached to theglove 12, viazipper pad 16 andbase portion 14, the associated user can brush their hair by simply rubbing their hand on their head. It is to be understood that the bristles 24 can vary, as desired, depending on the type of hair that an associated user has. Since theattachment 22 is removably attached, theattachment 22 can be easily removed and replaced with a different attachment, or if theoriginal attachment 22 wears out, a replacement can be added to theglove 12. - It is to be understood that the
glove 12 can be any type of hand covering. It is also to be understood that thezipper portions 42, 44 are not required to circumscribe thezipper pad 16 orattachment 22, and can be any type of zipper, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment. It is further to be understood that zippers are used in this embodiment of the invention, but are not intended to limit the invention in any manner. Any removable attachment device can be used, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment. - It is also to be understood, as shown in
FIG. 4 , that thebase portion 14′,zipper pad 16′, andattachment 22′ can be curved to match the curvature of an associated user's hand. Also, theattachment FIG. 6 , where theattachment 22 is a cloth 26. Anattachment 22 can be used on theinventive device 10, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment. - In another embodiment of the invention, shown in
FIG. 7 , theattachment device 30 is attached directly to theglove 12. As in the previous embodiment, theattachment device 30 may be permanently, removably, or selectively removably attached to theglove 12. Theattachment 22 can then be attached to theglove 12 by theattachment device 30. In reference toFIGS. 9-11 , which show an exploded view ofportion 32 fromFIG. 7 , some of theattachment devices 30 that can be used in the invention are shown.Zippers 36, snaps 38, andbuttons 40 are shown in the referenced FIGURES. However, it is to be understood that any means for removably attaching can be used, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment. - In reference now to
FIG. 8 , another embodiment of the invention is shown. Atube 34 is inserting through anopening 18 in theglove 12. Thetube 34 terminates approximately in the middle of thepalm portion 32. Thetube 34 is connected to a water supply (not shown) and delivers water to theattachment 22, which in this embodiment is a sponge or cloth. In this embodiment, theattachment 22 has asoap holder 56 located near the terminus of thetube 34, so that when water is delivered, the soap creates suds on the surface of theattachment 22. In this embodiment, as the others, theattachment 22 is removably attached to theglove 12 or abase portion 14. - In reference now to
FIGS. 12-14 , another embodiment of the invention is shown.FIGS. 12-14 show anattachment 22″, attachment holes 46, holdingmember 48, receivingholes 50,attachment base 52, and pins 54. Theattachment base 52 is attached to theglove 12, on or near thepalm portion 28. Theattachment base 52 haspins 54 extending upwardly from the surface of thebase 52. Theattachment 22″ is fitted onto thepins 54 via attachment holes 46. The holdingmember 48 is than attached in place via receivingholes 50 receiving thepins 54 through the attachment holes 46. It is to be understood that thepins 54 and holes 46, 50 are merely embodiments of this invention, and are not intended to limit the invention in any manner. In another embodiment of this invention, theattachment 22″ could slide in betweenattachment base 52 and holdingmember 48, without using attachment holes 46. - It is to be understood that the hand covering 12 can take the form of a glove, a mitten, a glove with spread fingers, or any other means for receiving an attachment, as long as chosen using sound engineering judgment.
- An exemplary list of attachments, which is not intended to be an exhaustive list, and is intended to contain all equivalents, is as follows: hair brush, lint brush, sand paper, chamois cloth, sponge, buffer, cloth, wire brush, and cleaning brush.
- At least one embodiment has been described, hereinabove. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the above methods may incorporate changes and modifications without departing from the general scope of this invention. It is intended to include all such modifications and alterations in so far as they come within the scope of the appended claims or the equivalents thereof.
Claims (20)
1. A brushing device comprising:
a glove, the glove having a palm portion;
a base, the base fixedly attached to the palm of the glove;
a zipper pad, the zipper pad being selectively, removably attached to the base; and,
a brush portion, the brush portion being selectively, removably attached to the zipper pad.
2. A hand covering comprising:
a palm portion;
an attachment device, the attachment device being attached to the palm portion; and
an attachment, the attachment attached to the attachment device, wherein the attachment is selectively removable from the attachment device.
3. The brushing device of claim 1 , wherein the base is made of a rigid material.
4. The brushing device of claim 3 , wherein the device further comprises:
a lower zipper portion that substantially circumscribes the zipper pad; and,
an upper zipper portion that substantially circumscribes the brush portion, wherein the lower zipper portion mates with the upper zipper portion.
5. The brushing device claim 1 , wherein the base and the zipper pad are curved to fit the contours of an associated user's hand.
6. The brushing device of claim 5 , wherein the attachment device is selectively removable from the base portion.
7. The brushing device of claim 5 , wherein the hand covering further comprises:
an attachment, the attachment attached to the attachment device.
8. The brushing device of claim 7 , wherein the attachment is selectively removable from the attachment device.
9. The hand covering of claim 2 , wherein the attachment is chosen from the group comprising: hair brush, lint brush, sand paper, chamois cloth, sponge, buffer, cloth, wire brush, and cleaning brush.
10. The hand covering of claim 2 , wherein the attachment device is chosen from the group comprising: zipper, snaps, buttons, hook-an-eye fasteners, and clasps.
11. The hand covering of claim 2 , hand covering further comprises:
a base portion, the base portion being attached to the palm portion, wherein the attachment device is selectively removably attached to the based portion.
12. The hand covering of claim 11 , wherein the attachment is a hair brush.
13. The hand covering of claim 2 , wherein the hand covering further comprises:
a top portion, the top portion fitting over the attachment device.
14. The hand covering of claim 2 , wherein the hand covering further comprises:
a bottom opening;
a tube, the tube connected to the hand covering through the bottom opening, the tube having a dispensing end, the dispensing end ending substantially in the middle of the palm portion.
15. A glove comprising:
a palm portion;
a base portion, the base portion being attached to the palm portion;
an attachment device, the attachment device being attached to the base portion; and,
an attachment, the attachment being selectively, removably attached to the attachment device.
16. The glove of claim 15 , wherein the attachment device is selectively removable from the palm portion.
17. The glove of claim 16 , wherein the base portion and the attachment are substantially flexible.
18. The glove of claim 17 , wherein the attachment device is a zipper.
19. The glove of claim 18 , wherein the attachment is a hair brush.
20. The glove of claim 15 , wherein the glove further comprises:
a tube, the tube connected to the attachment through an opening in the glove; and,
a soap dispenser, the soap dispenser located in the palm portion, wherein the dispensing portion of the soap dispenser is located substantially in the middle of the palm portion.
