Definitions
- Inflammations of the prostate in men and the ovaries in women that do not have infectious origins are afflictions that occasion many concerns and discomforts and cause frequent doctor visiting.
- Inflammation of the prostate relating only to the problem in the man, is said to be prevalent among taxi drivers.
- What distinguishes and characterizes the preventive seat is an appropriate depression or concavity in the seat of the conventional armchair or chair that begins in the rear portion of the seat, extending toward the front portion, through the center, up to approximately 66% of the length of the seat of the corresponding armchair or chair.
- the length of the depression or concavity will be proportional to the length of the seat, which is different in the differing types of armchair or chair.
- the depression or concavity may have in its area a width that may vary between about 8 cm and 14 cm, depending on the type of armchair or chair that is manufactured applying the invention that is being described. Thus, in a typist's chair, with its seat small in area, the depression or concavity might have a width of 8 cm, while an armchair large in area, such as one for an executive, might have a width of 14 cm.
- the depth of the depression or concavity it depends on the height of the padding material that the manufacturer of the armchair or chair with the preventive seat is using.
- the depth may be about 3 cm, while in those armchairs that are manufactured with a greater height of padding, the depth of the depression or concavity may be on the order of about 5 cm.
- FIG. 1 is a front/top/right-side perspective view of an armless chair for a typist, for example, having a first embodiment of a preventive seat;
- FIG. 2 is an enlarged front/top/right-side perspective view of a preventive seat portion of the chair of FIG. 1 ;
- FIG. 3 is a front/top/right-side perspective view of an arm chair for an office, for example, having a second embodiment of a preventive seat;
- FIG. 4 is a front/top/right-side perspective view of a third embodiment of a preventive seat
- FIG. 5 is a front/top/right-side perspective view of twin seats for a theatre, for example, having a fourth embodiment of a preventive seat;
- FIG. 6 is a left-side sectional elevation of the preventive seat of FIG. 6 ;
- FIG. 7 is a front/top/right-side perspective view of the third embodiment of FIG. 5 with a head-rest back for an automobile, for example.
- FIG. 1 shows a an armless chair at 10 for a typist, for example, having a preventive seat 12 .
- the preventive seat is mounted on a pedestal 14 and has the depression or concavity 16 that characterizes the invention.
- the depression or concavity 16 of the preventive seat 12 extends from the rear of the preventive seat more than half way toward the front.
- the depression or concavity that characterizes the preventive seat of the invention is designated 16 a , 16 b and 16 c , respectively.
- the preventive seat invention offers a solution to the problem that is posed.
- the object or purpose of the depression or concavity of the preventive seat is to form an empty space (see attached drawings) in order that the perineal region of the person using it may rest on same, thus for the healthy person preventing the perineal region from supporting the pressure of the weight of the body when he is seated since, with the preventive seat, the weight of the body is supported solely on the buttocks and thighs.
- the creation of the preventive seat contributes a preventive solution for the healthy man and woman.
- the use thereof protects the man as well as the woman who, for reasons of work or need to travel or for any other reason, remains seated for a long time, from the risk of an inflammation of the prostate or of the ovaries, respectively. It takes care of the prostate in the man and the ovaries in the woman.
- the preventive seat constitutes a new and different use of the function that the seat of the conventional armchair and chair has been performing.
