Abstract

The present invention relates to a wind-proof umbrella, which includes a shaft and frame. A wire is provided, wherein the inner end of the wire connecting with a relating branch rib and the outer end connecting with tail portion of a relating main rib or a tail rib of the umbrella. The wire can pull the main rib or the tail rib when the umbrella is opened. As there happens a strong, the wire provides enough strength for the umbrella preventing from damage.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention refers to a wind-proof umbrella, which has well strength for resisting strong wind and preventing the frame from damage. [0001]
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a conventional wind-proof umbrella is usually provided with a subsidiary rib ([0002] 3), which has its inner end connecting with a relating branch rib (2) and its outer end forming a sleeve (31) mounting around tail portion of a relating main rib (1) slidably. When the umbrella is opened, the subsidiary rib (3) can pull the main rib (1) bent downward and the main rib (1) becomes an arc. As there happens strong wind, the subsidiary rib (3) provides a reinforced strength on the main rib (1), which can avoid the umbrella from damage by the wind. But this known structure will be heavy and large because the provided subsidiary rib (3). It is not convenient for storage or carry. Moreover, the umbrella would not be closed smoothly since the inner rigid subsidiary rib (3) placed between the shaft and the frame.
  • Accordingly, the present invention is to overcome the drawback of the conventional product and will be described in the following description.[0003]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The following drawings indicate the character and improvement of the present invention. [0004]
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 show plan views of a conventional wind-proof umbrella in semi-opened and opened state. [0005]
  • FIG. 3 shows a plan view of a wind-proof umbrella in closed state according to the present invention. [0006]
  • FIG. 4 shows a plan view of a wind-proof umbrella in opened state according to the present invention. [0007]
  • FIGS. [0008] 5 to 7 are plan views showing modified embodiments applied to folded umbrellas according to the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Referring firstly to FIGS. 3 and 4, it is an embodiment of the present invention applied to a straight umbrella, which includes a shaft ([0009] 4) and a frame comprised of the main rib (1) and the branch rib (2). The characteristic of the present invention is to provide a wire (5) having its inner end connecting with the branch rib (2) and its outer end connecting with tail portion of the main rib (1). Because the wire (5) is so light and almost no volume, the umbrella will not have any difference as it is closed in weight or total volume. When the umbrella is opened, the wire (5) can pull the main rib (1) becoming a beautiful arc and provides enough strength to resist strong wind.
  • Accordingly, the present invention obviously obtains the predicted wind-proof purpose without the drawback of the prior art. Under the same technique, the present invention can be applied in folded umbrellas, as shown in FIGS. [0010] 5 to 7, while the wire (5) has its outer end to connect with the tail rib (6) the each folded umbrella. Accordingly, the present invention obtains utility for use and should be allowed for patent.

Claims (2)

What is claimed is:
1. A wind-proof umbrella including a shaft and frame comprised of main ribs and branch ribs, the characteristic is in that a wire is provided between the branch rib and the main rib, wherein the outer end of the wire is connected with tail portion of the main rib.
2. A wind-proof umbrella as claimed in claim 1, wherein the umbrella is a folded umbrella having tail rib to connect with the outer end of the wire.
