- a wooden building can be simply and conveniently constructed. That is, anyone can easily assemble the wall body 100 even if he/she is not an expert in the field of building construction. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the construction cost of the wooden building. Further, since the wooden bricks of the wall body of the present invention are made of broken pieces of a waste wood material, it is possible to maximize the utility of the waste wood material. Moreover, since the wall body of the present invention is firmly made of the wooden bricks, it is possible to improve the strength of the wall body. Besides, various pipes can be simply and conveniently installed within the wall body of the present invention.
Abstract
Disclosed are a wooden brick and a wall body using the wooden brick. The wall body comprises: the wooden bricks including longitudinal slits formed in its upper and lower surfaces, vertical slits formed in its side surfaces so as to be connected to the longitudinal slits, longitudinal pipe grooves formed between the longitudinal slits, and vertical pipe grooves formed between the vertical slits so as to be connected to the longitudinal pipe grooves; pillars including slits vertically formed in their surfaces so as to correspond to the longitudinal and vertical slits of the wooden bricks; and connection members selectively inserted into the longitudinal and vertical slits of the wooden bricks and the slits of the pillars so as to connect the wooden bricks to the pillars.
Description
- This Application claims priority to Korean Patent Application No. 10-2003-0020813 entitled “Wooden Brick and Wall Body Using the Same”, filed Apr. 3, 2003.
- The present invention relates to a wooden brick and a wall body using the same, and more particularly to a wooden brick processed from a waste wood material and used to conveniently and firmly construct a wall body of a prefabricated wooden house, and a wall body using the wooden brick.
- Generally, wooden houses are light in load, and have an integrated structure and excellent inherent flexibility. Accordingly, the wooden houses are excellent in resistance to vibration, thus having a great capability to absorb external impact. Further, the wooden houses are excellent in durability and energy efficiency. Therefore, the wooden houses are currently widely popularized.
- However, in construction, the wooden houses require a difficult and complicated process and professional labor of persons skilled in the field of such construction for a long period of time.
- Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a wooden wall body easily and conveniently formed of wooden bricks, thus enabling rapid construction of a wooden building.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide a wooden wall body, easily and conveniently made of wooden bricks, constructed by anyone even if he/she is not an expert in the field of building construction, thus reducing construction cost.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a wooden brick manufactured from broken pieces of a waste wood material.
- It is still another object of the present invention to provide a wooden wall body firmly formed of wooden bricks, thus improving the strength of the wall body.
- It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a wooden wall body made of wooden bricks, in which various pipes are simply and conveniently installed.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of a wooden brick comprising: a pair of longitudinal slits longitudinally formed in each of upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions; longitudinal pipe grooves longitudinally formed in the upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick between the pair of the longitudinal slits; a pair of vertical slits vertically formed in each of side surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions so that the longitudinal slits and the vertical slits are continuous with one another; and vertical pipe grooves vertically formed in the side surfaces of the wooden brick between the pair of the vertical slits so that the longitudinal pipe grooves and the vertical pipe grooves are continuous with one another.
- In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a wall body using a wooden brick comprising: wooden bricks, each including longitudinal slits formed in upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions, vertical slits formed in side surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions so that the longitudinal slits and the vertical slits are continuous with one another, longitudinal pipe grooves formed in the upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick between the longitudinal slits, and vertical pipe grooves formed in the side surfaces of the wooden brick between the vertical slits so that the longitudinal pipe grooves and the vertical pipe grooves are continuous with one another; pillars, each including slits vertically formed in their surfaces so as to correspond to the longitudinal and vertical slits of the wooden bricks; and connection members selectively inserted into the longitudinal and vertical slits of the wooden bricks and the slits of the pillars so as to connect the wooden bricks to the pillars.
- The above and other objects, features and other advantages of the present invention will be more clearly understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:

- Now, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the annexed drawings.

- As shown in FIGS.1 to 7, a
wooden brick 110 in accordance with the present invention is formed to have a hexahedral shape, and compriseslongitudinal slits 111,longitudinal pipe grooves 113,vertical slits 112, andvertical pipe grooves 114. Thelongitudinal slits 111 are longitudinally formed in upper and lower surfaces of thewooden brick 110 close to both edge portions. Thelongitudinal pipe grooves 113 are longitudinally formed in the upper and lower surfaces of thewooden brick 110 between thelongitudinal slits 111. Thevertical slits 112 are vertically formed in side surfaces of thewooden brick 110 close to both edge portions so that thelongitudinal slits 111 and thevertical slits 112 are continuous with one another. Thevertical pipe grooves 114 are vertically formed in the side surfaces of thewooden brick 110 between thevertical slits 112, so that the longitudinal pipe grooves 113 and thevertical pipe grooves 114 are continuous with one another. - At least one
support hole 115 serving as a passage for a pipe is perpendicularly formed through the vertical pipe grooves 1 13. - Herein, the
wooden brick 110 is not limited in its size, shape, and/or standard. - As shown in FIGS. 4a, 4 b, and 4 c, the surfaces of the
wooden brick 110 may be maintained as they are, or one surface of the front and rear surfaces of thewooden brick 110 may be embossed or engraved with any designated design. - Furthermore, the surfaces of the
wooden brick 110 may be painted or provided with various wrappings attached thereto. - A
wall body 100 using thewooden brick 110 of the present invention comprises thewooden bricks 110,pillars 130, andconnection members 120. As described above, each of thewooden bricks 110 includes thelongitudinal slits 111 formed in the upper and lower surfaces of thewooden brick 110 close to edge portions, thevertical slits 112 formed in the side surfaces of thewooden brick 110 close to edge portions so that thelongitudinal slits 111 and thevertical slits 112 are continuous with one another, thelongitudinal pipe grooves 113 formed in the upper and lower surfaces of thewooden brick 110 between thelongitudinal slits 111, and thevertical pipe grooves 114 formed in the side surfaces of thewooden brick 110 between thevertical slits 112. Each of thepillars 130 includesslits 131 formed in their surfaces so as to correspond to the longitudinal andvertical slits wooden bricks 110. Theconnection members 120 are selectively inserted into the longitudinal andvertical slits wooden bricks 110 and theslits 131 of thepillars 130, thus connecting thewooden bricks 110 and thepillars 130. - A pair of the
slits 130 may be formed in one surface of thepillar 130, or in plural surfaces of thepillar 130 so that theplural wall bodies 100 are branched from thepillar 130. - The
connection member 120 is formed to have a flat shape and be inserted into theslit 131 of thepillar 130, and optionally includes aprotrusion 121 formed along an entire one side which functions to maintain uniform horizontal and vertical intervals between thewooden bricks 110. - Further, a
supporter 140 may be perpendicularly inserted into thesupport hole 115 serving as the passage for the pipe, or into the longitudinal andvertical pipe grooves wall body 100. - Hereinafter, the operation and function the
wall body 100 in accordance with the present invention is described in detail. - First, the position of the
pillar 130 is designated, and thepillar 130 is installed upright at the designated position. Then, thewooden bricks 110 are continuous with one another to thepillar 130 by means of theconnection members 120. - That is,
connection members 120 are inserted into eachslit 131 of thepillar 130, and thevertical slits 112 of thewooden bricks 110. Here, preferably, theconnection member 120 is firmly fitted into theslit 131 of thepillar 130, and thevertical slits 112 of thewooden bricks 110. - After a first layer of the
wooden bricks 110 is completely assembled, the firstwooden brick 110 of a second layer is connected to thepillar 130 by means of theconnection member 120 and otherwooden bricks 110 of the second layer are continuously and subsequently stacked on thewooden bricks 110 of the first layer by means of theconnection members 120 inserted into thelongitudinal slits 111 of the upper surfaces of thewooden bricks 110 in the first layer and thelongitudinal slits 111 of the lower surfaces of thewooden bricks 110 in this second layer. - Here, simultaneously with the construction of the
wall body 100,various pipe lines 150 are installed in thewall body 100 using the longitudinal andvertical pipe grooves support hole 115 serving as the passage for the pipe. Otherwise, after thepipe lines 150 are installed in advance, thewooden bricks 110 may be assembled into thewall body 100. - Further, after the
supporters 140 are perpendicularly installed at the position where layers of the wooden bricks will be stacked, the upper layers of thewooden bricks 110 may be stacked on the lower layers of thewooden bricks 110 by inserting the supporters into thesupport holes 115 of the correspondingwooden bricks 110 to be stacked. - An adhesive may be attached to the
connection members 120 for connecting thewooden bricks 110 to each other or thewooden brick 110 to thepillar 130. - As shown in FIG. 8, the
wooden brick 100 made of a wood material is processed from a waste wood material, thus being advantageous in terms of maximizing the utility of the waste wood material. - Concavities or protrusions for guiding the
wooden bricks 110 are formed in the uppermost or lowermost layer of thewall body 100, thus firmly supporting the upper or lower portions of thewall body 100. - Since the
wall body 100 of the present invention is assembled using thewooden bricks 110, finishing of internal and external wall surfaces are completed simultaneously with the completion of the assembly of thewall body 100. Accordingly, it is possible to omit any additional processes. - Further, the
wooden bricks 110 of the present invention may be variously assembled into a floor, a roof, and a partition, as well as thewall body 100. - As apparent from the above description, the present invention provides a
wall body 100 comprisingwooden bricks 110, each includinglongitudinal slits 111 formed in the upper and lower surfaces of thewooden brick 110 close to edge portions,vertical slits 112 formed in the side surfaces of thewooden brick 110 close to edge portions so that thelongitudinal slits 111 and thevertical slits 112 are continuous with one another,longitudinal pipe grooves 113 formed in the upper and lower surfaces of thewooden brick 110 between thelongitudinal slits 111, andvertical pipe grooves 114 formed in the side surfaces of thewooden brick 110 between thevertical slits 112 so that thelongitudinal pipe grooves 113 and thevertical slits 112 are continuous with one another,pillars 130, each including slits 131 formed in their surfaces so as to correspond to the longitudinal andvertical slits wooden bricks 110, andconnection members 120 selectively inserted into the longitudinal andvertical slits wooden bricks 110 and into theslits 131 of thepillars 130 so as to connect thewooden bricks 110 to thepillars 130. By using thewall body 100 of the present invention, a wooden building can be simply and conveniently constructed. That is, anyone can easily assemble thewall body 100 even if he/she is not an expert in the field of building construction. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the construction cost of the wooden building. Further, since the wooden bricks of the wall body of the present invention are made of broken pieces of a waste wood material, it is possible to maximize the utility of the waste wood material. Moreover, since the wall body of the present invention is firmly made of the wooden bricks, it is possible to improve the strength of the wall body. Besides, various pipes can be simply and conveniently installed within the wall body of the present invention. - Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
Claims (10)
1. A wooden brick comprising:
a pair of longitudinal slits longitudinally formed in each of upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions;
longitudinal pipe grooves longitudinally formed in the upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick between the pair of the longitudinal slits;
a pair of vertical slits vertically formed in each of side surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions so that the longitudinal slits and the vertical slits are continuous with one another; and
vertical pipe grooves vertically formed in the side surfaces of the wooden brick between the pair of the vertical slits so that the longitudinal pipe grooves and the vertical pipe grooves are continuous with one another, wherein the vertical and longitudinal pipe grooves are configured to receive a supporter.
2. The wooden brick as set forth in claim 1 ,
wherein at least one support hole is perpendicularly formed through at least one of the longitudinal pipe grooves.
3. A wall body using a wooden brick comprising:
wooden bricks, each including longitudinal slits formed in upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions, vertical slits formed in side surfaces of the wooden brick close to edge portions so that the longitudinal slits and the vertical slits are continuous with one another, longitudinal pipe grooves formed in the upper and lower surfaces of the wooden brick between the longitudinal slits, and vertical pipe grooves formed in the side surfaces of the wooden brick between the vertical slits so that the longitudinal pipe grooves and the vertical pipe grooves are continuous with one another, and wherein the vertical and longitudinal pipe grooves are configured to receive a supporter;
pillars, each including slits vertically formed in their surfaces so as to correspond to the longitudinal and vertical slits of the wooden bricks; and
connection members selectively inserted into the longitudinal and vertical slits of the wooden bricks and the slits of the pillars so as to connect the wooden bricks to the pillars.
4. The wall body as set forth in claim 3 ,
wherein each of the connection members is formed to have a flat shape and be inserted into the slit of the pillar, and optionally includes a protrusion formed along an entire one side which functions to maintain uniform horizontal and vertical intervals between the wooden bricks.
5. The wall body as set forth in claim 3 ,
wherein a supporter is perpendicularly inserted into the support hole serving as a passage for a pipe or the longitudinal and vertical pipe grooves, so as to strengthen the wall body.
6. A brick for building walls, the brick comprising:
a base comprising wood;
a first longitudinal slit formed on a first surface of the base;
a first vertical slit formed on a second surface of the base;
a first vertical pipe groove formed on the first surface; and
a first longitudinal pipe groove formed on the second surface, wherein the first vertical pipe groove and the first longitudinal pipe groove are configured to receive a supporter.
7. The brick of claim 6 , further comprising a second longitudinal slit formed on a third surface of the base.
8. The brick of claim 6 , further comprising a second vertical slit formed on a fourth surface of the base.
9. The brick of claim 6 , further comprising a vertical pipe groove formed through a portion of the base.
10. A wall formed using the brick of claim 6.
