Abstract
This invention relates to a sanitary device comprising a body with a pierced carrier (11) defining a channel (11 a) for a distribution of a flush water, and a trap (12) terminating in a soil pipe (12′) as in water closet bowl. The body of the sanitary device is integrally formed with at least one suction conduit (13), having various holes opening inwards said device body and connectable to at least one suction apparatus for internal airing of the device body and the removal of bad smells from the body. The suction apparatus is reversible in order to create a jet towards the interior of the body of the device.
Description
- This invention concerns the filed of sanitary equipment and refers in particular to a water closet bowl with an apparatus for eliminating unpleasant odours.
- Water closet bowls have already been proposed, either incorporating or connected to a suction apparatus that is intended to air and eliminate the bad smells that form within them. In one known model, this apparatus is connected, at the inlet, to a suction opening that opens above the rim of the bowl and, at the discharge, to the soil pipe of the water from the bowl itself. However, the efficiency of this device is limited by the fact that the suction tube does not draw the foul air directly from the basin of the toilet bowl, but from above.
- In another known embodiment, the suction apparatus communicates with a suction chamber that rests upon the rim of the toilet bowl, or which is formed in part of a bowl lid, and conveys the foul air directly to the outside or towards an activated carbon filter. The suction apparatus is, therefore, only applicable to bowls equipped with an additional suction chamber, located above the body of the toilet bowl. At present, there do not exist water closet bowls designed in such a way as to release hygienic, deodorising or biodegrading substances.
- An object of this invention is to provide a water closet bowl with an efficient suction apparatus, which draws the air directly from the basin of the sanitary bowl, without resorting to other elements made separately and then added.
- Another object of the invention is to make a water closet bowl in ceramic or other defining material, incorporating within itself a channel for a discharge of the flush water and, at least one conduit for aspiration of the air within the bowl basin.
- A further object of the invention is to provide a toilet bowl with one, two or more conduits that can be used selectively to introduce various substances into the bowl itself.
- These objects are achieved by means of a toilet bowl in which a suction conduit is formed directly within the body of ceramic or other material of the said toiled bowl, either above, below or concentrically with a water distribution channel, and wherein said conduit has holes that open inwardly and which is connected to an air suction apparatus.
- Further details of the invention will become clearer in the description below, where reference is made to the enclosed drawings, which are indicative but not binding, and where:
- FIG. 1 is a vertical cross-section of a water closet bowl having suction conduit leading to a suction unit located at a distance;
- FIG. 2 is a similar cross-section of a water closet bowl, with a suction apparatus incorporated.
- In the drawings a
body 10 of a toilet bowl is shown usually made in ceramic, but which may also be made of plastic or metal. In the upper part of its basin, thebowl 10 has acarrier 11, which defines a channel 1 a. This channel 1 a is connected in a way already known to abox 11′ for releasing the flush water, and hasholes 11 b for discharging the flush water into the bowl itself. Lower down, the bowl has atrap 12, which is connected to thesoil pipe 12′. - At the same level as the
carrier 11 defining thechannel 11 a for the water distribution, thetoilet bowl 10 is equipped with at least asecond conduit 13. This may be completely, integrally formed within thecarrier 11, as shown in the drawings, or may consist of an additional tube that is inserted into said carrier. In either case, theconduit 13 may be located above, below or concentrically outside or inside thechannel 11 a, and it has holes oropenings 13′ that open inwards to the bowl. Thisconduit 13 is connectable to at least one suction unit, for the aspiration of the air within the basin of the bowl, see arrow F. - In FIG. 1, the suction unit is not shown. It may be located at a distance from the
toilet bowl 10, to which it is connected by means of anappropriate tube 14, which communicates with theair suction conduit 13. This arrangement is particularly suitable for expelling the foul air in the external environment. - Alternatively, FIG. 2, a
suction unit 15 may be associated with the body of the toilet bowl, in air-operated communication at one end with thesuction conduit 13 and, at the other, by means of a passage 16, with thesoil pipe 12′, in order to convey the aspirated air in the direction shown by the arrow F′. The passage 16 that communicates with thesoil pipe 12′ will therefore be equipped with a non-return valve 17, in order to prevent the reflux of foul air from the soil pipe when the device is not in operation. - The suction unit may be operated by its own switch, or by the light switch or by a micro switch which is connected to a normal toilet lid or seat.
- Thus, the flush water is distributed through the
channel 11 a, and the air is aspirated from inside the toilet bowl via theconduit 13. However, via thewater distribution channel 11 a or through thesuction tube 13, there may also be supplied another product, such as a hygienic substance, a detergent, a deodorant or a biodegradable material. - These substances may be liquids, powders or contained in soluble balls or capsules, and may be placed in a container that is connected to the toilet bowl, for use when needed. These substances will be released at different moments from the water flush and/or the suction, being facilitated if the suction process is inverted so as to give a direct jet into the bowl itself.
- Within the
channel 11 a or theconduit 13, there may also be housed an ionisation system, again with the purpose of freshening the air. - The above-described embodiment may be modified and varied without altering the scope of the invention. In fact, the suction system may be similarly applicable to other sanitary devices that have at least one distribution channel for the water, as for example a bidet, or in those devices in which a toilet bowl and bidet are incorporated into a single unit.
Claims (10)
1. A sanitary device comprising a body with a pierced carrier (11) defining a channel (11 a) for a distribution of a flush water, and a trap (12) terminating in a soil pipe (12′), characterised in that at least one suction conduit (13) is provided, having various holes opening inwards said body of the sanitary device and connectable to at least one suction apparatus for internal airing and the removal of bad smells from said body, the suction apparatus being reversible in order to create a jet towards the interior of the device body.
2. The sanitary device according to claim 1 , wherein the air suction conduit (13) is integrally formed in the body of the sanitary device above the channel for the water distribution.
3. The sanitary device according to claim 1 , wherein the air suction conduit (13) is integrally formed in the body below the channel for the water distribution.
4. The sanitary device according to claim 1 , wherein the air suction conduit (13) is formed integrally in the body concentrically to the channel for the water distribution.
5. The sanitary device according to claim 1 , wherein said suction conduit (13) consists of a tubular element, located in the body, either inside or outside the channel for the water distribution.
6. The sanitary device according to any of the claims 1-5, wherein the suction apparatus is connected to the suction conduit (13) and is located at a distance from the bowl.
7. The sanitary device according to any of the claims 1-5, wherein the suction apparatus is connected, at the inlet, to the air suction conduit and, at the discharge, to the soil pipe, through a non-return valve (17).
8. The sanitary device according to any of the above claims, wherein the pierced carrier (11) defining the channel (11 a) for the water distribution is connected to a system for distributing hygienic substances, detergent, deodorant or biodegradable material.
9. The sanitary device according to any of the above claims, wherein the suction conduit (13) is connected to a distribution system for a hygienic substance, detergent, deodorant or biodegradable material.
10. The sanitary device according to any of the above claims, wherein the carrier (11) defining the channel for the water distribution or the suction conduit is connected to an ionisation system.
