We do not wish, however, to be confined to the embodiments shown, but what we desire to cover by Letters Patent is set forth in the appended claims.
We claim:
1. A one-piece buckle frame comprising a continuous peripheral portion constructed to facilitate the application of a substantially complete covering composed of buttons, and an attaching cross bar, the peripheral portion being composed of a series of button seats each adapted to support, and, to be completely concealed by, a button, and a series of narrow neck portions extending from seat to seat, and each seat portion being provided centrally with an opening adapted for reception of a concealed attaching portion of a button and having a recess at the back for receiving the deformed metal of such attaching portion when the same is clinched.
2. In a tailored buckle, in combination, a frame comprising a peripheral portion formed to provide button seats and fabric covered buttons attached thereto for covering and concealing said peripheral portion, each button comprising a body portion, a flanged collet received within and supported by the body portion, a fabric covering for the body portion having its border portion gripped between the body portion and the collet flange, said collet having a permanently deformable convex back and an eyelet tube at the center of the back, and said frame having openings in which the eyelet tubes are received and having the metal surrounding each opening thinned to provide a space at the back of the frame for receiving the deformed eyelet metal.
3. In a button, in combination, a body portion a fabric covering therefor, and a collet comprising a continuous peripheral ange co-acting with the body portion to grip the fabric covering, an arched convex back extending inward from the flange, and attaching means integral with the back at the middle thereof and adapted to be deformed by pressure.
4. In a button, in combination, a fabric covered body portion, and a collet having a continuous marginal flange, a permanently deformable arched convex back and attaching means at the middle of the back adapted to be deformed by pressure.
5. In a button, in combination, a body portion, a fabric cover therefor, and a collet having a continuous marginal flange, an arched convex back and an eyelet tube at the middle of the back adapted to be deformed by pressure, said fabric cover being marginally gripped between the body portion and the collet flange.
6. A one-piece buckle frame comprising a continuous peripheral portion constructed to facilitate the application of a substantially complete covering composed of buttons, and an attaching cross bar, the peripheral portion being composed of a series of button seats each adapted to support, and to be completely concealed by, a button, and a series of narrow neck portions extending from seat to seat, and each seat portion being provided centrally with an opening adapted for reception of a concealed attaching portion of a button.
7. A buckle frame comprising a peripheral portion constructed to facilitate the application of ornamental buttons thereto, said peripheral portion being composed of a series of button seats, each adapted to support a button, and a series of relatively narrow portions connecting the seats, each seat being provided centrally with an opening adapted for reception of a concealed at? taching portion of a button and having a recess at Athe back surrounding said opening for receiving the deformed metal of such attaching portion when the same is clinched.
