y My invention relates to a holder for holding soap, soap powder, bath salts and similar substances, which may be readily attached to a bath spray head or nozzle with the object in view of dissolving and mixing such substances with the water passing through such head or nozzle, and
a particular object of the invention is to provide a device for the purposes set i'orth which may be readily attached to or detached from 1G the usual or common types of bath spray nozzles.
My invention in its preferred embodiment consists of a container or holder having an offset portion seating a gasket, and upon which gasket rests the peripheral portions of the spray head or nozzle to which the device is attached. The bottom of the container is provided with a per forate dilusing face similar to that of the spray nozzle. The substance to be mixed with the water passing through the nozzle is placed in.
this container, between two screen elements, and the water is forced to pass through all portions thereof thus causing such substance to dissolve or rrix with the water as it passes through the nozzle.
In addition to the foregoing my invention has to do with. a quick and positive as well as an easily operated means for securing the container to the spray nozzle, and to this end I have incorporated such means which operate upon a positive cam principle and by means thereof I am enabled to provide a positively water tight joint between the container and the spray nozzle. All of which will be more clearly under stood upon reading the description ci the invention following, aided by the several views in the accompanying drawing, wherein- Figure 1 is a perspective oi one embodiment of my invention.

My invention is intended for attachment to spray nozzles of the type indicated by the numeral 1, which is provided with the usual convex periorate diffusing face 2 and a flange 3 delining its peripheral limitations. My invention embodies a container or basket cylindrical in (Cl. ZMS) cross section. This is provided with a convex bottom 5 supplied with a multiplicity of small spray forming apertures 6. The upper portion of the basket is enlarged or offset to provide the ledge 7 and the nozzle embracing portion 8. 60, Ledge 7 prc-vides a seat for a gasket B', and
it ls intended that flange 3 of nozzle l shall rest upon such gasket. Projecting upwardly and at opposite sides of the portion 8, are the ears 9. Ears 9 are provided with a number ci' apertures o5 l0 of unequal or varying distances from ledge 7,
it being understood that there is a corresponding number and arrangement of apertures in each ear.
In correspondingly selected apertures l0 are in- 70 serted the ends of cam member 1l. This member has horizontal end portions i2 entering apertures l0. downwardly directed portion 13 which is posi tioned at an acute angle to the body portion of member i1 so that when the body portion is I5 pressed down as shown and the portion 13 is past the vertical center line, this causes the angle por 'tion l5 to function as a cam pressing upon, the iiange 3 andl providing a tight joint between the spray nozzle and the basket. To detach the basket, member 11 is lifted or pivo'tally raised. This lifts the cam angle l5 and spaces lt from the liange 3 sufiiciently to permit the basket to be slipped from the nozzle. As stated before, apertures 10 are placed at unequal or varying dis- 85 tances from. the ledge 7 and this is to compensate iol' varying sizes in flanges 3. For a flange wider than shown, the outermost apertures 10 would receive ends 12; whiie if narrower, the innermost apertures would be utilized. v
Figure 5 illustrates a modification of the invero tion just described in that the ears 9 have been eliminated and two U-shaped members 16 have been substituted each of which has one leg l'Z secured to the basket 4. Each Umernber has a 95 horizontal portion provided with a threaded aper turc` the horizontal portions being indicated by numeral i8 and in the threaded apertures thereu in thread the knurled head. screws 19 which may be threaded down to bear upon ilange 3 of nozzle 100 1 and cause such ilange to bear upon gasket f8' resting on ledge 'l thereby forming a watertight union between basket and nozzle.
The embodiment shown in Figures 6 and 7 has the usual basket i provided with enlarged portion 105 8 and ledge 7. and in addition modified ears 9'. Ears 9' have slots 2O arranged at a moderate downward inclination. In slots 20 ride pins 21 projecting outwardly from the end portions of yoke 22. The yoke is U-shaped fitting about the 110 portions of the nozzle above flange 3, and consequently when such yoke is moved in one direction, or toward the nozzle as shown by the drawing, it is caused, by reason of the inclination of the slots in which pins 21 ride, to bear upon the nange portion of the nozzle thereby providing a watertight union with gasket 8 and ledge '7 as heretofore set forth. But when the yoke is moved in the opposite direction the upward rising of the pins in the .slots 20 permit a suflicient spacing between yoke and flange 3 to permit the removal or detachment of basket 4.
It is contemplated that the basket will be used to hold soap, soap powder, washing powder, bath powder, bathsalts and/or similar substances, and in order to retain these properly in the basket and to restrain a too rapid washing away thereof, a pair of diffusing and restraining or retaining screen members 25 and 26 are provided. These are provided with supporting rings 25 and 26 respectively. These are ne mesh screens and prohibit a too rapid washing away of the substances placed therebetween. The lower screen 25 is provided with an offset portion 27 designed to receive a cake of soap, the intention of such offsetting being to hold such cake as near the center of the basket as possible. Inlorder to assist in removing the screens 25 and 26 they are respectively provided with lifting lugs 28 and 29.
Having described my invention, I claim- 1. The invention as set forth, comprising a cylindrical member having a convex bottom provided with a multiplicity of spray apertures, the upper portion of said cylindrical member being offset to provide an annular ledge, said ledge forming a seat for a gasket including such gasket, said gasket adapted for having seated thereon the peripheral portion of a bath spray nozzle, members projecting upwardly from said offset portion, and a cam member mounted to said members designed to press upon said peripheral portion of said spray nozzle thereby securing a water tight union between said cylindrical member and said nozzle.
2. The invention as set forth in claim 1 including a pair of removable screen members seating in said cylindrical member.

The invention as described, comprising a cylindrical member having a. convex bottom provided with a multiplicity of spray apertures, the upper portion thereof being enlarged to provide an annular ledge constituting a gasket seat, a gasket seating on said ledge, ears projecting upwardly from the enlarged portion, a cam member pivoted to said ears and designed when moved in one direction to press the peripheral portions of a bath spray nozzle upon said gasket and when moved in the opposite direction to release such nozzle.

A soap and crystal dispenser for attachment to bath spray nozzles, comprising a cylindrical member having spray perforations in the bottom thereof, an encircling ledge proximate the top thereof, said ledge forming a seat for the peripheral portions of a bath spray nozzle including a gasket to provide a water tight union between said cylindrical member and said nozzle, oppositely positioned members projecting from the top of said cylindrical member, said projecting members having cam apertures therein, and a member having portions projecting or seating in said cam apertures designed when moved in one direction to form the aforesaid union, and when moved in the opposite direction to break such union substantially as described.

A soap and crystal dispenser for attachment to bath spray nozzles, comprising a cylindrical member having spray perforations in the bottom thereof, an encircling ledge proximate the top thereof, said ledge providing a transverse enlargement of said cylindrical member designed to embrace the peripheral portions of a bath spray nozzle, said ledge forming a seat for a gasket including such gasket upon which the peripheral portions of a spray nozzle seat, oppositely positioned members projecting from the top of said enlarged portion, said projecting members having cam apertures therein, a member having portions projecting into or seating in said cam apertures designed when moved in one direction to form a water tight union between a spray nozzle seating on such gasket and the cylindrical member, and when moved in the opposite direction to break such union.

A soap and crystal dispenser for attachment to bath spray nozzles, comprising a cylindrical member having spray perforations in the bottom thereof, an encircling ledge proximate the top thereof, said ledge providing a transverse enlargement of said cylindrical member designed to embrace the peripheral portions of said bath spray nozzle, said ledge forming a seat for a gasket including such gasket upon which the peripheral portions of a spray nozzle seat, oppositely positioned members projecting from the top of said enlarged portion, said projecting members supporting means which when moved in one direction form a water tight union between a spray nozzle seating on such gasket and the cylindrical member, and when moved in the opposite direction to break such union.
7. The invention as claimed in claim 6 including a pair of removable screen members seating in said cylindrical member.
