MANNER OF CONSTRUCTING THE FACE OF CUR-RIER-SV-BEAMS.
Specification of Letters Patent No. 1,955, dated January 27, 1841.*
To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, IGHAB'oD LrNDsEY, of Charlestown, county of Middlesex, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Curriers and Morocco-Shavers Beams; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof.
My impro-vement consists in constructing the morocco shaver-s and curriers beam with a marble, stone or metallic face, which prevents the beam from warping or becoming` hacked by the shaving knife, by which advantages more labor can be performed upon it in a given time, the skin is preserved from cuts, and an unevenness to which it is liable by being dressed on the common beam, is wholly obviated. The marble, stone or metallic face is set in a slide, and marked A, in the drawing, transmitted to the Patent Oflice with a former specification.
lhat I claim as my improvement and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The method of constructing the curriers beam by inserting a slab of marble, or other hard substance, into the wood, by which means the utility of the instrument is greatly increased.
