1 Claim.
This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in dispensing device and condiment holder.
The primary object of the invention is to pr, Vide a dispensing device and condiment holder 1 for table use that is adapted for serving of four ed in accordance with the present invention showing a sugar dispensing device and napkin holder;

Referring more in detail to the accompanying drawing, the dispensing device and condiment holder includes a vertical standard 10 rotatably supported at its lower end upon the base 11 by means of the stud bearing 12. A
per end of the standard 10 and includes side bars 14 with inner crossed brace or spider arms 15 carrying a center bearing 16 receivable upon the upper reduced end of the standard 10 and there retained by an eyelet bolt 17, the eyelet portion of which is utilized as a handle for lifting the device. The four side arms 14 respectively carry or display the words 18 such as Sugar, Pepper, Napkins and Salt and a sugar dispensing device and holders for napkins and condiments such as salt and pepper are supported on the standard 10 directly beneath the associated word.
The sugar dispensing device and support therefor on the'standard 10 includes an angle arm 19 carried by the standard to receive a depending socketed projection 20 carried by the sugar dispensing receptacle 21. The lower end of the receptacle 21 has a tapering bottom 22 in communication with a measuring cylinder 23 having a measuring valve 24 therein operated by the external handle 25 for discharging the sugar in measured quantities, such as teaspoonfuls through the spout 26. A bracket 2'7 projecting laterally of the standard 10 beneath the angle arm 19 to support removable measuring cup 28 that receives sugar from the discharge spout 26. The holders 29 for condiments, such as salt and pepper as indicated on the rectangular frame 13 project from opposite sides of the standard 10 and are connected to said standards by means of arms or pins 30 as shown in Figure 5.
The holder for napkins is carried by the standard at the side thereof opposite the sugar dispensing device 21, the napkin holderbeing of substantially U-shape, including side walls 31, a bottom wall 32, being open at its inner side with a bar 33 connecting the upper rear edges of the side walls 31. A pair of apertured lugs 34 project inwardly from the cross bar 33 to provide a support for the upper ends of a pair of guide rods 35 that are engaged at their lower ends with the bottom wall 32 of the napkin holder. A channel iron 36 has the closed side thereof secured to the inner edge of the bottom wall 32 and the cross bar 33, the lower end of the channel iron 36 as shown in Figure 5 carrying an'arm 37 directed laterally thereof for attachment to the standard 10. The napkin holder includes a follower plate 38 having openings therein for guiding reception on the rods 35 and to prevent binding action of the follower plate upon the guide rods, the inner edge of the follower plate 38, as shown in Figure 3 carries a depending ear 39 carrying a pin 40 that is freely movable in the longitudinal slot 41 in the closed side of the channel iron 36.
From the above detailed description of the invention, it is believed that the construction and operation thereof will at once be apparent, the device occupying a minimum of space upon a table and efficiently serving four persons at one described the preferred embodiment of the invention, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
