When itis necessary to add envelopes it is only necessary to open the wallet and again withdraw the cover member 11 along the flap l2, whereupon additional envelopes may be snapped onto the thongs. The cover member 11 is then again slid inwardly along the flap 12 to cover the end portions of the thongs unoccupied by the envelopes. The frictional engagement of the cover member 11 with the flap 12 serves to restrain relative sliding movement of these parts when the wallet is opened for access to the envelopes.

By means of the reenforced resilient tonguesv 22, the envelopes will not become accidentally dislodged from the thongs even though the envelopes are loosely mounted on the thongs, and since the adjacent end portions of each pair or" tongues are in contact or very nearly so, it is pos sible to use thin narrow ribbonlike flexible thongs without danger of accidental separation of the envelopes from the thongs. The tongues 22 and thongs 16 form the sole means resisting outward pull on the envelopes when the wallet is open.

' When the wallet is closed the ends of the thongs secured to the thicker portions of the cover 10 lie parallel to and adjacent the outermost envelope, as seen in Fig. 2, to minimize shifting of the envelopes on the thongs, and when the wallet is opened the envelopes may slide loosely on the thongs and will lie substantially flat when swung in either direction, without need for shifting cover 11 with respect to the cover 10. The

What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In combination, a binder including a cover member having a flexible flap, a second cover member forming a sheath adjustably receiving said flap therein, a plurality of parallel. flexible strips secured at their outer ends to said flap and at their inner ends to the inner face of said first named cover member adjacent said flap, said flexible strips being adapted to receive apertured sheets, the outer portions of said strips unoccupied by said sheets being enclosed within said sheath-forming cover member, and the inner portions of said strips lying parallel to and adjacent an outermost when the binder is closed to minimize soiiting or" said sheets, said inner portions of said strips when the binder is open permitting loosening of the sheets therealong and allowing tl 186? toiie substantially flat when swung in e ion.
