o provide a dividing member which is provided with new and improved means for preventing the box or drawer from spreading and for dividing the box or drawer into compartments.
Numerous other objects and advantages will be apparent throughout the progress of the following specification.
The invention comprises in general a box or drawer having indentations pressed inwardly from the sides thereof.
These indentations on one side are alined with the indentations on the opposite side and are slotted to receive a removable divider.
The divider is adapted to extend in alined slots in the indentations and has an integral turned flange provided thereon to prevent the box from spreading. The divider may have parts struck-out therefrom to receive a card to indicate the contents behind or before the divider. As many divide rs as may be required may be positioned in the alined slots. 7

Side walls and a rear flange 13' and 14 respectively are bent up vertically from the bottom 12 and are integral therewith. The upper edges of the side walls may be bent down wardly and outwardly to provide depending. flanges 15. The front edge of the bottom 12 is bent vertically to provide a lower. wing 16 of the box or drawer front, and the sides 13 are bent inwardly at the vertical front edges 17 thereof to provide wings 18. The wings 18 are provided with mitered edges 19 which meet companion mitered edges 20 at the ends of the lower wing 16. A front plate 21 having an inturned depending flange 22 is positioned behind the wings 16 and 18 to complete the front wall of the drawer. A back 23 is positioned inwardly of the rear flange 14 to complete the rear of the box or drawer. The back 23 has a. returned doubled-over portion 24 provided thereon to act as a box or drawer stop to limit the forward sliding movement of the box or tray. 7 The side wings 18 and the bottom wing 16 may be flanged outwardly to provide a frame for receiving an identifying card or label relating to the contents of the drawer. A sheet metal handle 25 is fastened in any suitable manner to the front wall of the drawer and this handle extends forwardly and downwardly to provide a con-- venient means for sliding the box or drawer forwardly or rearwardly. If desired, the wings 18'- may also have a downwardly and outwardly inturned flange 26.
The sides 13 are provided with a plurality of inwardly extending ridges 27 having furrows or: valleys 28 between the ridges. These ridges have sloping or inclined tops and bottoms 29 and 30 respectively. The ridges on one side aline with the ridges on the other side and these ridges are provided with vertical slots 31 and openings 321' in their tops and bottoms 29 and 30. A divider 33 extends across the box for separating the box into compartments. This divider is adapted to be vertically slidable in the slots 31 and has integral turned flanges 34 at its outer ends which pass through the holes 32 in the top and bottom. The upper edge of the divider 30 may have a folded-over depending flange 35 and inwardly extending spaced ridges.
