IMPROVEMENT IN CART-SCALES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 193,699, dated July 31, 1877 application filed I July 14, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID F. FEITER, M. D., of New York, in the county'of New York and State of New York, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Carts for Weighing Goal and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of a side view of my cart for weighing coal. Fig. 2 is a bottom plan view, and Fig. 3 is a transverse vertical sectional view, of the same.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a cart for weighing coal or other articles in the cart, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
The annexed drawing, to which reference is made, fully illustrates my invention.
A represents the bottom frame of the cart, secured to the axle B, and having the skeleton frame 0 built upon it.
In the center of the bottom frame A is a scale-frame, D, with scale levers and beams E E arranged in any suitable manner.
G is the cart-body, which is placed inside of the skeleton frame 0 upon the scale-frame D. G is the tail-board, hung upon hooks a independent of the frame 0. The body G will be secured to the frame 0 by any suitable device that will cause them to move together as one when dumping the cart, and yet allow the body G a movement on the scale independent of the frame 0.
The scale-levers E are connected by a rod, b,with an ordinary scale-beam, H, inclosed in a box on the side of the skeleton frame D.
This. invention is especially intended for coal carts, so that the coal may be weighed when delivered, and the buyer thus see how much he actually gets; but it may, of course, be applied to other carts and wagons, as may be desired.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination, with the bottom frame A, of the skeleton frame 0, the scale-frame D, with levers E, rod b, and beam H, and the cart-body G, all substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
