IMPROVEMENT IN PAINT-PENCILS OR CRAYONS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No.
[91,856, dated June l2, 1877; application filed April 16, 1877.
To all whomit may concern Be it known that we, WILLIAM J. IIOLTON and JAMES E. FIELD, of Milwaukee, Milwaukee county, Wisconsin, have invented a new and ter, and cannot be rubbed off a surface when applied without great difficulty; and, furthermore, it marks on a polished surface with equal ease to that of a rough surface, thus forming a perfect substitute for the marking pots and brushes now commonly in use, and

The component parts of our paint-pencil are: To make black pencils, take five and one-half pounds of tallow, one-quarter. pound of lamp- -b1ack,-one-qnarter pound of resin; to make blue or other colored pencils, take five and one-half pounds of fallow, one-quarter pound of Prussian blue or other color, one quarter pound of resin.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- Apaintpencil compound, consisting of coloring matter, tallow, and resin, in the proportions' specified.
