Suitably mounted on the bottom wall of the tank 12 is a stop 30 for limiting inward swinging movement of the door 2 to an open position. (See Figure 5.) V
A well known type of slide damper 31 consisting of screening and slotted sliding plate, is provided on the rear wall 9 adjacent the lower ortion of the casing.
In t e front wall 8 is provided a relatively large sight openin 32, and the opening may be closed either a suitable transparent panel 33 mounted in a groove34 extending-about the o nin 32, as shown in Figure 5, or by a single oor, or a double hinged door such as suggested at 35 in Figare 12.
Access to the interior of the casing 7 is gained throu h openings provided in the side walls 10, an doors 36 are provided for the gs. Supported on the front and rear walls of the casing, adjacent the corners thereof, are interior vertical angle bars 37, each of which has one edge thereof serrated or otherwise to provide a series of vertically spaced lugs 38 whereby to support in horizontal positions within the casing, shelves 39 and a tray 40. The shelves 39 are perforated, and may be of any suitable construction, ,as for ex-' ampleand as shown, each shelf is formed of wire and includes a frame-having longitudinal and transverse wires mounted therein. The tray 40 is pan shaped and the peripheral wall of the tray at eac corner thereof is rovided with a pair of lugs 41, 42, the ugs 41 pro'ecting from the end walls of the tray for spacing the ends of the tray from the side walls 10 of the casing and the lugs 42 engaging selective lugs 28 r supporting the tra 1n proper position.

Mounted in the casing 7 considerably above the bottom 5 are opposed transverse guide rails 44 between which are disposed the sections of a folding damper designated nerally by the-reference character 45. ach section of the damper includes a pair of leaves 46, 47 hinged together as at 48. On the other hand when the device is to be used for heating purposes, that is for heating a room or the like door 27 is open, the foldable damper is fully open, and theslidingrdraft 31 suitably re lated.

The entire construction is relatively ht in weight and when used as a stove the evice may be so arra d as to have the front wall 8 thereof faced into the room. The side walls 10 of the combined heater and stove are equipped with handles 43 to facilitate moving the device from one place to another and for turning the device for fac' either the front or rear walls to the room, t e rear wall 9 facing the room when the device is used as a heater.
7 It is of course to be understood, that the walls of the combined heater and stove may constructed for heat purposes, ing either in the nature of double walls or walls lined with asbestos or like material. Also it is to be understood that in lieu of theresistance coils 25', resistance rods may be used.
Even though I have herein shown and described the preferred embodiments of the invention, it is to be understood that the same is susceptible of further changes, modi fications and improvements coming within the sco of the'appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:

In a combined heater and stove, a casing, legs for supporting the casin a pair of rows of openings in thebottom o the easing, one row being located adjacent one side of the casing and the other row adjacent the opposite side, a slide for controlling each row of casings, a deflector in the bottom of the openings formed thereby, one wall of the 'casinghaving an opening in its upper part,
a door forcontrolling the opening, said wall having an opening therein arranged slightly above the heating eleinent, manually controlled means for controlling said opening last mentioned, a damper member located in the casing slightly above the plane of the lastmentioned openin and manually 0 rated means extending t ru a part of the casing for moving said damper member to open and closed position.
3. In a combined heater and stove, a casing, heating means in the lower part thereof, and a damper for separating the lower part of the casing from the upper part thereof, said damper comprising two pairs of plates, the plates of each pair being hingedly connected together, rails in the casing, pins carried by ends of the inner plates of each pair or, engaging the rails, pro'ections on the ends of the outer plates of eac pair, said ro'ections extending through the casing and aving knobs on their outer ends, whereby by turning the knobs, the plates will be moved to open and closed position.
