This ange extends inwardly about half an inch, more or less. and serves to conduct the urine from the ,person toward the discharge-opening C. This has been fully tested, and an invalid lying in bed in any position can use a urinal thus constructed with comfort and with entire safety. The inner edge a of the a'nge is made clean and smooth to fit closely against the person.
I am aware that urinals have been made With Haring mouths having outwardly-inclined flanges, and also with cords or rolls around RICHARD H. OLMSTEAD.
