. ther so construct the device that it may be easily taken apart and thoroughly, cleaned. Another object of the invention is to provide a medicine administering device so constructed that medicine can be readily given to young children and persons unable to sit upright without danger of spilling the medicine.
It often happens that young children and persons suffering from certain diseases will resist taking medicine and sometimes food and it is then very diflicult to administer the medicine with a spoon as the child or sick person will struggle and thus cause the medicine to be partially or sometimes entirely spilled from the spoon before the spoon can be inserted into the mouth. With this device the medicine cannot be spilled as the outlet spout is first inserted into the mouth and the outlet opening then uncovered.

A plug 13 is secured in the lower end of the sleeve 12 and has its inner end portion 14 reduced as clearly shown in Fig. 2 so that the spout 11 may fit between the inner end of the plug and the sleeve 12.

The cup or bowl 10 is provided with a cover 16 which is screwed upon the bowl so that it may be removed. when placing the liquid or powder in the bowl and is provided with an air outlet spout 17 having a removable cap 18 so thatwhen emptying the bowl, the cap may be removed thus permitting air to enter the bowl. It will thus be seen that when in use, the liquid will be placed in the bowl or cup 10 and after the cap or cover16 has been put in. place and the spout placed in the patients mouth, the bowl being'helc and the sleeve supported by the fingers eng aging the flange or collar 19, the sleeve can be lowered to the dotted line position which will bring the line 20 to a position in which it may be seen above the flange. Thvv outlet opening 15 will now be opened ant. the liquid can flow out through the hottcm of the spout 11 and out through the out let openings 15. After a sufiicient quantity f the liquid has flowed out through the spot t, the sleeve canbe again raised to close the outlet opening and the cap 18 put in place. Of course, if desired a measured quantity can be placed in the bowl and the entire a nountpermitted to flow out the outlet oper ing. This bowl could i also be provided with indicating markings as shown at 21 so that the amount placed in the bowl could be readily ascertained and also the amount permitted to pass out of the bowl determined.
p I have therefore provided a very simple structure which is very efective in operation and which is so constructed that it may be entirely taken apart 1 aeasy cleaning and sterilizing with hot water.
What is claimed is 1. A medicine administe ring device comprising a bowl, an outlet spout leading from said bowl, a sleeve fitting upon said outlet spout, a closure plug for he lower end of said sleeve provided with a reducedinner end portion for fitting inio the lower end of said outlet spout, said sleeve being provided with side openings, constituting outlet openings, and a cover for said bowl.
2. A medicine administe ring device comprising a bowl, an outlet s; out leading from said bowl, and'a sleeve :ilidably mounted upon said outlet spout and closed at its 110 provided with a side opening constituting an outlet opening closed by said spout when the sleeve is in a raised position.
3. A medicine administering device oomprising abowl having an outlet spout, a sleeve slidably mounted upon said bowl and provided with an engaging flange at its upper end, said bowl being closed at its lower end and provided with outlet openings in the sides, and a closure for said bowl.
4. A medicine administering device comprisin a bowl, an outlet spout extendin beneat said bowl and open at its lower emf, an open ended sleeve slidably mounted lower end and upon said spout and provided with side openings constituting out ets, a supporting flange extending from the upper portion of said sleeve, and a closure plug fitting within the lower end of said sleeve against the lower end of said spout and provided with a reduced inner end portion fitting into the spout.
