The present invention relates to fountain` for allowing thequick and easy lling of the showing the ink sack in its normal or eX-4 2ov pen.

A fountain pen having, in combination; a hollow barrel having a spring-receiving recess provided with a stop near one end; an ink bag in the barrel; a bag compressing leaf spring in the barrel at the side of the ink bag having one end bent outwardly and lying in said recess with its end held by said stop; and means for moving the other end of the spring to bow the same to compress the ink bag including cooperating guide means on the barrel and the leaf spring at one end of said spring, and a cam on the end of the leaf spring adjacent said guide means.

A fountain pen having, in combination, a barrel, an ink'bag in the barrel, a leaf spring in the barrel at one side of the ink bag for compressing the ink bag, co-operating guide means on the barrel and the leaf spring at one end of said spring, and a cam on the end of the leaf spring adjacent said guide means.
12. A fountain pen having in combination, a barrel,-an. ink sack in said barrel, a spring with one end offset outwardly of the remainder thereof, a rivet fixing said end relatively to said barrel between the sack and the barrel, said spring being arranged for compressing said sack, a cam fixed tothe other end of the spring and having its outer surface in direct engagement with the barrel, a rotary member mounted on the barrel at one end thereof, and forming the support for a pencil feeding mechanism, a cam rotatable with said member to move the first named cam longitudinally to effect actuation of the i spring, said rotatable cam being provided with an annular groove, and a pinprojecting inwardly from the barrel into said groove and adapted to cooperate with the walls of the groove to prevent longitudinal movea smooth outer portion inserted into the sack, n

A fountain pen having, in combina tion, a barrel, an ink sack open at oneend in the barrel, a leaf spring for compressing p the'sack, one end of the spring being fixed relatively to said barrel near the open end of the sack and the other end being provided with a cam, and a one-piece rotatable mem-- ber mounted at and having a shoulder engagv ing one end ofthe barrel and having means thereonv for actuating said cam for bending i f said spring to prevent lrelative longitudinal n movement of the member, said member when partially rotated, relatively to said barrel, causing said cam actuating means to flex the spring and thereby compressing the sack, and releasing said sack upon another partial rotation of said member for filling said sack with ink.
