Patented Jan. 2 4, 1933 ,GEORG NEUMANN', or rennin, G am-lay FOLDABLE rm vnrnn's rants nn ran LIKE I Application filed. January 29, 1930, Serial No.
The present invention relates to a tableattachment for chairs or benches whichem bodies novel features of construction whereby it can be readily used in'connection with any chair or seat and will readily provide a very convenient rest for supporting books, lunches or the like in front of the occupant of the chair.
Further objects of the invention are to provide a'device of this character which is comparatively simple and inexpensive in its construction, which can be readily placed inposi-. tion on the chair and whichcan be folded into a small amount of space when not in use.
For-a full understanding of the invention reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing in which a Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the table. Fig. 2 is a view showing the table in hori- Fig. 3 is a view showing the table in aninclined position for reading. 7 Figs. 4 and 5 show the base portion. Figs. 6 to 9 show the table carrying portion. Fig. 10 is a cross section of the table carrying' portion;

. Figs. 12, 13, 14: are a vertical showing of the complete device wlth a modified form'of parts 1 l of the bar 5" and-function to rece ve thekbars 1 Y of the base in cross section and with a modified form of the table carrying portion.
Fig. 13a shows an alternative use of the form of Fig. 18. l 1 Figs. 15, 16 and 17 areshowings of anotheriform of table carrying portion.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated on all views of the drawing by like reference characters.
The base of the device isin the formof a rectangular bar 10 and is providedwith vertical opeiiings 8, 9 as shown in Fig. 4.
The table carrying portion of the preferred form of my device is a rectangular bar 5 in shape of the base "portion. The member 5 is provided on its under side with 'a pair of hingedsupports 6 and 7. The ,memberfi is the as. portion in 'folded posi 424,291; anti-in 'Ge'rma yme mw ii, i928.
also provided with twopair oflintersecting 7 slots 3 and lmostg clearly shown Fig. 10..
; The table member 1 is composedofthree panels la, 10,1d. .The panels 10 and 1d are hinged to opposite edgesof'the' panella; The panels lcfand ldeach .carry at their'lowelj edges a ban: The bars aredesignated as 2 .andIQcrJ; The bars 2 and 2a a'readaptedto i be receiVedby either theislots. 3 or 1 flotsam; I
