IMPROVEMENT IN BRIDLES.
Specilicationforming part of Letters Patent No. 189,283, dated April 3, 1877; application filed August 31, 1876.
To all whom it may concern -Be it known that I, GEORGE M. STRONG, of Boston, in the county of Suolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented an Improvement in Bridles, of which the following is a specification The nature of my invention consists in combining, with the crown-piece of a bridle, a pair of open swivel-loops, said loops being arranged to receive the two branches of an overdraw check rein; the object being to make a cheap and secure holding for the overdraw, from which it can be readily detached without unbuckling or unhitching either end.
4 Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a section, showing the loop and the -method of fastening it to the crownpiece.
In the drawings I have only shown such parts of the bridle as are required to show the improvement, the other parts of the bridle being omitted.
A represents the crown-piece of the bridle. To'this piece the brow-band B and the rosettes D may beattached in the usual manner.
, F F', representing the principal feature of my invention, are two metallic loops, which are connected to the crown-piece A by pivots, (see H, Fig. 2,) so as to be free to swivel or turn on the same, the shape and method of fastening the loops being clearly shown in Fig. 2.
