Be it known that I, GEORGE WASHINGTON WELLS, of Black Hawk, in the county of Gilpin and State of Colorado, have invented a newr and useful Improvement in Boot and Shoe Spring, of which the following is aspeci cation:

he object of this invention is to furnish an improved spring for the soles of boots and shoes, which shall be so constructed as to prevent the soles from twisting or getting otherwise out of shape, while giving great elasticity to the sole in walking.
The invention consists in boot and shoe springsmade with cross-heads upon their twist or strain, and at the saine time gives to the sole great elasticity in walking.
aving thus described my invention, I claim as new nd desire to secure by Letters Patentheads B upon their ends, and with holes in the ends of said cross-heads, to receive the rivets by which they are secured to the insoles of oots and shoes, substantially as -herein shown and described.
