This invention ap ertaine to calculati devices for banks and other commercial houses and has for (meet its rimary ob= jecte to provide novel means for su porting interest table bearing oer-do in displaying position and in proper position relative to a changeable date strip, whereb the int-erest of any amount between two selected periods of time may be readily determined, the movable date strip allowin the current day date to be brought into View and alignment with the first interest table bearing card:
Another salient object of m invention is the provision of novel means for maintaining' the interest table bearing cards in properdisplaying position whereby any one of the cards than be readily ex osed so as to permit the ready reading of the table's thereon. I
A further object of my invention is the provision of novel means for su porting the date strip or ribbon along side of the interest table bearing cards, the ends of the date strip or ribbon being wound upon suitable" reele or spools with means for permitting the turning of the windin spool so that the date strip or ribbon can be advanced day by A still further bject of my invention is to provide on improved interest calculatin device for banks and other commercial houses of the above oharaoter',whioh will be durable and eficie'nt in use, one that will be simpieend easy to manufacture, and one Whioh can be placed upon the market at a reasonable cost.
With these and other objects" in view, the
' invention consists in the novel construction,-
arrangement and formation of parts, as will be hereinafter more specifically d'eseribed, claimed, and illustrated in the aeconipahying drawings, in which drawings I Figure 1 is a side elevation of my im roved device. k

cards 16, which will be hereinafter more specifically referred to, can be readily displayed.
The top wall is provided with a plurality of equidistantly spaced transversely extending slots 17 and it is to be noted that these slots terminate short of one side of the casing, for a purpose, which will be later described.
The interest table bearing cards 16 are preferably formed from durable material and are of substantially the same length as the slots 17 andhave formed on their lower ends laterally extending hinged tabs 18. The cards 16 are adapted to be placed through the slots 17 with the tabs 18 in engagement with the lower face of the top wall 15. Any preferred means can be provided for engaging the tabs to hold the same securely in place to prevent the accidental displacement ofthe cards 16. As shown, I provide 'longitudinally extending holding strips 19 for this purpose. The strips 19 extend longitudinally of the casing adjacent to the opposite sides of the cards 16 in abutting relation to said tabs 18 and are securely held in place by the use of suitable fastening elements such as screws 20.
By this construction, it can be seen that the cards can be swung backwards or forward so as to expose to view the face of a desired card. If preferred, the rear wall 13 can have secured thereto an upstanding back plate 21 against which the rear card can rest so as to form a support for the same. 7
' The space on the top wall 15 between the ends of the slots 17 and the side wall 12 receivesthe run of the date or calendar ribbon 22, which is to be exposed to view and it is to be notedthat the top wall 15 adjacent'to the opposite ends thereof is provided with short slots-23 through which the ribbon is threaded. The walls of-the slots 23are preferably rounded as at 24 so as to form. a guide for the ribbon to prevent binding and cutting thereof. The opposite ends. of the ribbon are wound about suitablespools 25 and 26 respectively. The spool 25 may comprise a disc shaped end plate 27 and an axially disposed hub28 which is mounted on the stub.
shaft 29 carried by a supporting disc 30. This disc 30 is secured by the use of suitable fastening elements 31 to the side wall 12. The inner'end of the stub shaft 20. may have threaded thereona suitable holding nut 32 5 7 and a washer 33 for holding the spool in proper rotative position on the stub shaft.
-The rearwinding spool 26 may comprise end discs 34 connected together by the axial hub 35ewhich is rotatably mounted on the rear stub shaft 36. This rear stub shaft 36 may be carried by a bracket 38 secured by suitable fastening elements 39 to the side wall '12. Normally the date strip is unwound from the reel 25 and is wound up on the reel 26 and in order to permit the manual turning of the reel 26 to wind up the date strip or ribbon 22 thereon, a hand opening 40 is formed in the side wall 12 adjacent to the reel and it is'obvious that the fingers of the operator can readily be inserted in said opening for turning this reel 26. The reel may be removably held on its stub shaft 36 by the use of a suitable nut 41 and a washer 42 may be interposed between the nut and reel to permit the turning thereof without binding.
In accordance with my invention the date or calendar ribbon 22 bears the names of the months of the year and the day of each month, a transverse space 43 being provided for each day. This date strip or ribbon 22 is soforme'd' that the day spaces 43 thereon will be directly opposite one of the interest table bearing cards 16 and thus a separate interest table bearing card is provided for each day space.
In order to permit an understanding of the use of my device to be had, it is tobe understood that the first card bears an interest table giving the rate of interest for one day for any amount say from one dollar to three hundred dollars while the second card gives the interest for two days for any amount say from one dollar to three hundred dollars and the third card the interest for three days, etc. Thus the calendar or date strip is adapted to be advanced day by day so that the current date will be in alignment with the first card, so that the interest from the current day back to any desired date or number of days can be readily found. Preferably, but not necessarily, I provide separate day cards for sixty days and in rearof these days cards I can provideinterest table bearing cards for three months, four months, five months, etc. I 1 V V 1 In order to protect the run of the date ribbon 22 I can provide a transparent glass or celluloid plate 44 held in slightly spaced relation to the strip by means of metal spacing strips 45, suitable fastening elements 46 can extend through the transparent plate 44, the spacer plates and into the top wall 15.
From the above description, it can be seen that I have provided a novel device for supporting interest bearing table cards in proper displaying position with novel means for facilitating the use of such cards.
Ifdesired, the lower end of the casing can be left open and provided with suitable cushion feet 47 and the side, and front and rear walls can be flanged inwardly as at 48 for supporting said feet.-
Ghangesin details may be made without departing from the spirit or the scope of this invention, but 7 What I claim as new is:
A device of the character described comprising a casing having an upper wall formed with a plurality of transversely extending slots, cards extendingjthrough said slots and the tabs whereby all of the tabs Will be firmly clamped in engagement with the under face of the upper Wall and the cards firmly held in place but permitted to be individually removed by loosening the strips.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
ALBERT M. HUNTER.
