Another feature of the invention is to construct the strip to provide co-extending mem-' strip including a portion formed to providev an edge which provides means preventing the introduction of said edge between the door frame and stop.
Another object of the invention is to form adjacent edges of the co-extending portions in a manner so that said edges may contact with each other and prevent binding of the contact edge with the stop or rabbet of the door or window frame.
Another object of the invention is to construct one of the co-eXtending portions so that it is of a relatively greater width than the other and is of a construction which provides means preventing the placing of the wider portion of the strip between the frame and stop.
Another object of the invention is to construct a weather strip having the above and other advantages of a single piece of metal which is bent or otherwise formed to provide means for accomplishing said advantages.
T he invention has these and other objects, all of which will be explained in detail and more readily understood when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawing which illustrates one embodiment of which the invention is susceptible, it being obvious that changes and modifications may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the appended claims forming a part hereof.

In the particular embodiment of the invention illustrated in the drawing, the strip is formed of a sheet of relatively thin gauged metal which is bent intermediate its width 66 throughout its length as indicated at 10 to provide the co-extending members 11 and 12. It will be noted that the member 12 is of a slightly greater width than the member 11 v and has the edge 13 thereof bent to provide 6' the longitudinally extending flange 14 which extends toward the member 11, to provide means which prevents the introduction of the member 11 between the frame and stop A of o.

The edge of the outer inclined portion 17 adjacent the flange 14: of the member 12 is preferably curved in the direction of the flange 14: as indicated to form a flange 18 and the edge of this curved flange 18 is adapted to contact and cooperate with the flange l4: and because of its relatively narrower width than the member 12 is prevented from becoming 90" the door.
, When the weather strip is applied to a door frame to seal the door and particularly that portion ad acent the lock of the door, the
strip will have a part of the frame portion 16 cut away as indicated at 19 to accommodate the lock, the remaining portions of the strip such as the outer inclined portion 17 and the adjacent portion of the member 12 being left intact at the cut so that these portions and particularly the bent edges thereof such as are respectively designated flanges 18 and 14 may contact with each other and effect a seal at this portion of the strip at the lock. The juncture of the portion 16 and the inclined portion 17 of the member 11 forms a line along which a suitable tool may be drawn to re-establish or increase the inclination of the member 11, should this member at any time assume a position in which it remains in a position in which it is rendered ineffective to provide the required seal.
From the foregoing description of the invention, it is manifest that an extremely simple construction is provided which is capable of effectively sealing the space between the door or window and their frames and which is also capable of effecting a seal to prevent the passage of weather particularly at that portion of the door in which the lock is contained.
It is further manifest that when the angular portion 17 of the strip is bent toward the angular flange 14 of the member 12, upon closing of the door or other closure, the curved flange 18 of the member 11 will contact with the flange 14 and form a seal at these portions of the strip and by virtue of the greater width of the member 12, the flange 18 is prevented against engaging the door stop thus assuring free movement of the flange 18 of the member 11. It is further evident that the structure provides an effective seal at the look even though the material of the fiat portion 16 is cut away to accommodate the lock.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A weather strip comprising a strip of material having some resiliency, said strip being folded upon itself to form coextending members of unequal width, said coextending members forming an edge section of double thickness adjacent the line of fold, the wider of said sections having its free edge forming an inturned flange, the other of said sections being folded longitudinally to form a portion inclined at an acute angle to said wider section, the free edge of said inclined portion being curved towards the wider section to form a flange.
2. A weather strip comprising a strip of resilient material folded upon itself to form coeXtending members of unequal width, said coextending members forming an edge section of double thickness adjacent the line of fold, the wider of said sections having its free edge forming an inturned flange, the
