In one form of my invention, a motor, a compressor and a condenser are mounted upon a common base and a plurality of fans are driven from the motor and so arranged that air is in part forced against the condenser and in part induced away from the condenser.
The invention includes various other phases of arrangement, construction, and operation which will be more fully hereinafter described and more particularly pointed out Referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 is a front elevation view of a compressor machine unit shown as mounted in the lower part of a refrigerator cabinet, the refrigerator cabinet being shown in section;

Referring more particularly to Figure 1, reference character 10 designates a base. each of four corners of the base is the support 11. On the forward part of the base are mounted a motor 12 and a compressor 13. Motor 12 has a shaft 14 and compressor 13 has a shaft (Fig. 2). The motor and compressor are arranged so that shafts 14 and 15 extend parallel to each other. These shafts also extend transversally of the longitudinal dimension or extent of the base. Rearwardly of the compressor and motor lies a condenser -16 made up of a series of superimposed loops comprising straight sides and semi-circular As can be seen from Figure 1, the condenser extends the full height of the unit and somewhat higher than the compressor. The con denser is long relative to its width, looking down upon the same, and may be said to extend transversally to shafts 14 and 15. The other end of the condenser is connected with a valve 20 Which is normally open and is connected to a conduit 21 adapted to be connected to an evaporator which would preferably be situated in the upper part of the refrigerator cabinet. The return from the evaporator is connected to conduit 22 which connects with a member 23 comprising a switch control mechanism for cutting the motor into and out of operation. The return fluid from the evaporator after passing through member 23 passes into conduit 24 and into the compressor through connection 25. The switch control mechanism is disclosed and claimed. in my Patent No.

1924,'and inasmuch as it is not a part ofthe present invention, it is not herein further described.
Electricity supplied to the motor causes rotation of shaft 14. This rotation is transmitted to shaft 15 by means of belt 27 which 28 and 29 on shafts 14 and 15 respectively, the pulley 28 being of considerably smaller diameter than pulley 29. Pulley 29 is the outer ring of a fan 30 which includes a series of blades 31. The motor operates to drive the belt 27 in the direction indicated by arrow 32 in Figure 2. The blades 31 are so fashioned and arranged that rotation as thus indicated causes flow of air through the fan in the direction indicated by arrow 33 and on to the compressor. With respect to the condenser, this fan'is an induced draft fan and draws air across the condenser for the purpose of liquefying that of blades 31. This fan is mounted rearwardly of belt 27, the diameter of pulley 28 being smaller than the external fan blade diameter. With the rotation above described, air passes through fan 35 in the direction indicated by arrow 36. As respects condenser 16 fan 35 is a forced draft fan.

Having thus described my invention, what ll claim is:
1. In a refrigerating apparatus, the combination of a base, a condenser formed of a flattened elongated coil disposed longitudinally of the base, a compressor and motor mounted in spaced relation on said base with parallel shafts disposed transversely of the base and substantially at right angles to the condenser, a fan on the motor shaft between the motor and condenser, a fan on the compressor shaft between the compressor and condenser, said fans being arranged to produce two currents of air moving in opposite directions through the condenser, and a single current of air over each the motor and the compressor.
2. In a refrigerating apparatus the combination of a base, an elongated condenser disposed longitudinally of the base, a compressor and motor mounted in spaced relation on said base with substantially parallel shafts disposed transversely of the base and substantially at right angles to the condenser, a fan driven from the motor, said fan being located between the motor and condenser, a fan driven by the compressor, said fan being located between the compressor and condenser, said fans being arranged to produce two currents of air moving in opposite directions through the condenser and a single current of air oven each the motor and the compressor.
3. In a refrigerating apparatus the combination of a base,.an elongated condenser disposed longitudinally of the base, a compressor and motor mounted in spaced relation on said base with substantially parallel shafts disposed transversely of the base and substantially at right angles to the condenser, a fan driven from the motor, said fan being located between the motor and condenser, a fan driven by the compressor, said fan being located between the compressor and condenser, said fans being arranged to produce two currents of air moving in opposite directions for cooling the condenser, the motor and the compressor.
