The present invention relates to fly traps for windows and the like and an ob ect of the invention is to provide a simply constructed and efficient device of this charac- 5 ter which may be readily applied to and removed from a Window frame when desired and which is designed to trap the flies both from the inside and the outside.
With the above and numerous other b 10 jects in view as will appear as the description proceeds the invention resides in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and i claimed.

Figure 5 is a horizontal section taken substantially on the line 5-5 of Figure 1, and Figure 6 is a perspective View of the tray.
Referring to the drawings in detail it will be seen that the letter A denotes a rectangu lar frame which may be placed in a window frame under the lower sash, for example, as
is illustrated in Figure l. The side rails 5 of the frame A are provided with notches 6 and 7 the former slightly above the latter and these notches are at the edges of the sides intermediate their ends and on their inner faces and provide two oblique ledgers for each notch denoted by numerals 8 and 9 for the notch 6 and numerals 10 and 11 for the notch 7. A rail 12 extends across the sides 5 a slight distance above the bottom member 14 of the frame A.
Numeral 15 denotes a sheet of foraminous material, the major portion of the edges of which are fastened to the inside edges of the frame A by strips 16 and 16. The strips 16, are provided with triangular shaped blocks 17 to fit in notches 6 to cause portions of the side edges of thesheet to be secured to the ledgers 8 and 9.

A sheet 20 of foraminous material is similarly connected to the outside edges of the ing triangular shaped blocks 22 to fit in the notches 7 and the crotch 23 thus formed in the sheet 20 is provided with openings 24 to permit the entrance of the flies. The bottom of the sheet 20 is secured by a strip 25 on top of the rail 12. The rail 12 has bolts 26 rockable therein with outer end portions 27 at right angles thereto to engage front plates 28 of a tray 29 slidable into the bottom It will be seen that when the screen is placed in a window frame under a lower sash as shown in Figure 1 the flies may be caught both from the outside and the inside.
t is thought that the construction, utility I and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been described in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.
It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A screen trap of the class described including a rectangular frame having side portions with V-shaped notches therein, sheets of foraminous material stretched across the frame and fastened to the edges of the frame and extended into the notches to provide 95 crotches across the sheets, strips for holding the sheetson the frame, triangular blocks extending into the notches to hold portions of the sheets therein, the crotch of the sheet being provided with openings, one of the sheets terminating a distance above the bottom of the frame, a rail to which the bottom of said last mentioned sheet may be secured,
a, tray slidable'in the bottom of the frame under the rail, and detachable means for securing the tray to the rail.
