This invention relates to improvements in 'air conditioners and has particular reference to a vdevice wherein air may be effectively cooled through the use of water without'add- 5 ing moisture to the air being conditioned.
A further object is to produce a device which is simple in construction and takes up a minimum amount of space.

Applicant hasv thereforedevised an air cooler wherein the Vevaporation takes placethrough the mixing of-air and water, and this cooling .caused by levaporation, transmits its effect to air which .is kept out of contact with the water. In the accomp-anying drawings wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of my invention, the m1- meral 5 designates a base upon which is mounted an outer shell 6- within which is positioned an innershell 7. The shell 7; is 1spaced from the shell 6 as. illustrated in .Fi land 2. The shell 6 hasa guard 8, while t e shell 7 has a guard 9. A partition 11 extends 5 between the shell 6 and shell 7 and prevents l circulation of air therebetween, except in a denitepath. y l An end plate 12 istted to one end` of the shell 7 and serves to support the ends of pipes 13. These pipes extend parallel to the shell 5` 7 and 'havc their ends bent so as to connect with the shell 7 as indicated at 14. At 16 I have shown a motor having a shaft 17, which n.
is journaled as at 18 in' the plate 12. A fan 19 is secured to the shaft 17 at a point adjao0 cent the guard 9. A fan 21 is also secured to the shaft 17 at a ypoint adjacent the, guard 8.
A water pipe is shown at 22, which has a"suit able'valve 23 and a nozzle 24. The nozzle 24 may be ofv any desired construction, and -is lso arranged thata spray of water issuing therefrom will be encountered by the blades of the fan 19, and blown over the pipes 13 toward Y* the plate 12A.

It will thus be seen that I have f reduced a device which will accomplish a the objects above set forth.
It is to be understood that the form of my invention herewith shown -andldescribed is to be taken as -a preferred example ofthe same and that various changes relative to the material, size, shape ,and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departingl from the s irit of the'invention or the scope 'of the subJoined claims.l l' Having thus described my invention) I -c aim 10 1.
