In a device of the class described, the combination of a casing having a combustion chamber with a compartment thereabove having a rear wall inclined rearwardly and up- Y wardly yto the back wall of the casing, a grate for the compartment slidable under said wall, and a draft outlet divided by said back wall.

In a device of the class described, the combination of a casing having a combustion chamber and a compartment thereabove, a rear wall for the compartment, a grate slidable under said wall, a draft outlet from 'the casing adjacent to and divided by the upper end of said rear wall and a damper pivoted at the upper edge of said wall for controlling said outlet.
7. In a device of the class described, thecombination of a casing having two compartments therein in superposed relation with a draft passageway at the side ofthe upper compartment, a grate for each compartment slidable to and from a position thereunder,
the grate for the upper compartment being slidable from its position under said upper compartment into the aforesaid draft passageway at the side of the upper compartment, said casing having at its upper'end a draft outlet with which the aforesaid passageway and the upper compartment communicate, andsaid casing having a draft inlet at the lower end of and communicating with the interior of the casing below the grate of the lower compartment.
