rlhis invention relates to advertising devices and an object of the invention 1s to Y provide a useful article in combination with advertising matter in such relation to the article as to advantageously display the adveran article of general utility is employed as a mounting or vehicle to bring advertising matter to the attention of the public.
It having been observed that when a water can is used to supply water to the radiator of an automobile, that this operation is necessarily performed in conspicuous view of the occupants of the automobile who usually give this operation a certain amount of attention.
In carrying out the present invention advantage is taken of the construction of the water can by providing the same with suit` ably positioned advertising matter so that as the can is lifted to discharge its contents into a radiator of an automobile a placard or surface having the said advertising matter thereon may be presented to the view of the occupants of the automobile.
The inscription or printed matter may be so applied as not to interfere with the operation or handling of the can during use and when the can is not in use it is immaterial whether or not the advertising matter has an advantageous or conspicuous position since the primary object of the invention is to so locate the advertising matter with respect to the can so that merchandise to be advertised will, by reason of the manipulation of the can, be presented to view in a most conspicuous and forcible manner.
