g This invention relates to .a price card which may be used advantageously in conjunction with goods, wares and merchandise to advertise or indicate the price of the same.

.3 'The invention has for its general object, the provision of a device of the indicated character embodying improvements in construction enabling a display of a wide range of prices or quotations in conjunction with a m comparatively small number of cards in that the parts thereof furnished to indicate the prices or quotations may be changed at will 7 and be easily and conveniently attached and detached from a card whenever the occasions 1.3 arise.

Referring now more particularly to Figiiu tires 1, 2 and 3, it will be apparent that the article of the present invention includes a plaque, card or plate 10 which may be of any suitable design or shape, and the same is made of thin sheet material such as metal or 145 celluloid, and in the present instance is made of celluloid. The card or plate has upstruck therefrom within the marginal edges thereof tangs or clips 11. The number and arrangement of tangs or clips 11 will depend upon the nature and number of characters, symbols or numeralsused in any particular case. In the present instance the number and arrangement of tangs or clips 11 suffice to accommodate three characters or numerals designated 12. Each character or numeral 12 has notches 13in the opposite end edges thereof. Each notch 13 opens through the opposite side faces of the character or numeral 12. The notches 13 will correspond to the number and arrangement of tangs or clips 11. Each of the characters or symbols 12 is made of sheet material such as metal or celluloid, and in the present instance is made of celluloid. Each of the characters or numerals 13 may be of a color contrasting with the color of the card or plate 10. It will be understood that the card or plate 10 and also the characters or numerals 12 will be flexible by reason of the character of the material obvious that the characters or numerals 12 u may be changed at will, and be easily and conveniently attached or detached from the card or plate whenever the occasion arises. In this way a wide range of prices or quotations in conjunction with a comparatively small number of cards or plates 10 may be used'thereby effecting an economy.

If desired, the body of the card or plate 10 may be formed with a recess 14 of any pre ferred size or shape to accommodate a supplementary display card 15 containing any desired information such as the quantity of items which are sold for the price indicated by the numerals 12. The card 15 is held in place by tangs or clips 16 upstruck from the body of the card or plate 10. Provision is also made for readily removing the supplemental card 15 from the recess 14 and consists of a small recess or depression 17 in the body of the card or plate 10. The recess or depression 17 accommodates a persons finger or a suitable implement which may engage the card 15 to remove it.

The card or plate 10 is provided with suitable means for securing the same to goods, wares and merchandise in a displaying position. In Figures 1 and 2 this securing means is in the form of a two-prong clip 18 there being one at each side of the card or plate 10. If desired, the securing means may be in the form of prongs or pins 19 secured to the card or plate 10, as shown in Figure 4:. In other respects, the article shown in Figure f is similar to that hereinabove described, and corresponding parts will be designated, by similar reference numerals.

Claims: a

l. A device of the class described comprising a main part constructed of sheet material to provide a front flat surface and having tangs formed from the material of said part and raised in relation to said surface, and separate characters constructed of flexible sheet material and each having notches in its I edges which open through theopposite side faces thereof to receive said tangs which extend in part within the notches and in part over the outside faces of the characters to thus detachabiy secure said characters in positions of display on saidlnain part against said front surface. 7

A. device of the class described comprising a main part having anarrangeinent of clips, and separatecharacters of flexible material each having notches in the edges which open through the opposite side faces thereof, the notches receiving the clips respectively in such manner that the clips extend in part in the notches and in part over the outside faces of the characters, to thus detachably secure said characters in positions of display onsaid main part.

A device of the class described comprising a main part having an arrangement of cli s and se arate characters of flexible material'each having notches in opposite end edges which open through the opposite side faces thereof, the notches receiving the clips respectively in such manner that the clips extend in part in the notches .and'in part over the outside faces of the characters, to thus detachably secure said characters in positions of display on sald main part.
