Description

WHEEL-PLOW CARRIAGE.
Patented. Jan.30,1877.
EEESSES N-FETERS, PHQTO-LITHOGRAPHER, WASHWGTON, D C.
UNITED STATES .TEN'I rule,
ABNER K. WOLFE, OF PRAIRIE CITY, MISSOURI.
IMPROVEMENT IN WHEEL-PLOW CARRIAGES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 186,780, dated January 30, 1877; application filed July 1, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ABNER K. WOLFE, of Prairie City, Bates county, Missouri, have invented a new and Improved Wheel-Plow Garriage, ofwhich the following is a specification The invention consists in arranging crankaxles independently, so as to swing upon tongue, and combining them with evener, arms, and draft-rods, as hereinafter described.
Figure 1 is a plan view of my improved wheel-plow carriage; and Fig. 2 is a section on line 00 00, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the independent cranked axles, which are connected to the tongue B in bearings allowing them to turn, and are connected by a rod, E, with the evener F, to which the plows are attached, and they are provided with a hitching-tackle, G", by which they are hitched to the horses independently of each other, so that when one plow stops the other can advance to relieve the machine from shocks and side draft, and to prevent the striking of the horses by the pole.
The contrivance is also very simple and cheap.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The independent cranked axles A, arranged to swing freely upon the tongue 13, in combination with the evener F, arms E, and draftrods G, substantially as shownand described.
ABNER K. WOLFE. Witnesses:
NICHOLAS J OHANNES,
J. M. LYLE.
