The bent-over side lugs 27 and 28 at the center of the hook and eye holder may be covered, if desired, by a paper strip, not shown, having any suitable ornamental or advertising matter. The pairs of resilient tongues, 16, 18 and 17, 19 at the ends of the holder may be similarly covered by

29 and 30 which serve to hold said tongues in contact and prevent the accidental loss of any of the fastener units during storage or shipment.

The modified form of the U-shaped holder shown in Fig. 4is similar with the first form of the invention except that the

31 and 32 thereof are bent in the same direction and lie at right angles to the central section 33 thereof. This produces a dress fastener holder of about one-half the length of the first form.

Operation When it is desired to fill the holder with fastener units 12, it will merely be necessary for the operator to hold said units parallel to the plane of the front and

While there have been disclosed in this specification two forms in which the invention may be embodied, it that these forms are shown for the purpose of illustration only, and that the invention is not to be limited to the specific disclosures but may be modified and embodied in various other forms without departing from its spirit. In short, the invention includes all the modifications and embodiments coming within the scope of the following claims.

Having thus fully described the invention, what is claimed as new, and for which it is desired to secure Letters Patent, is

1. In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units, each comprising an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a pair of connected parallel spaced strips of sheet metal for receiving said units in a row, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, and inwardly offset means on the ends of said strips for closing the ends of said strips to prevent accidental removal of said units.

2. In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units each comprising an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a pair of connected parallel spaced outwardly pressed strips of sheet metal for receiving a row of said units, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, said strips having inwardly offset ends, and loop means for detachably locking the ends of said strips together.

3. In a holder for aplurality of dress fastener units, each comprising an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a pair of connected par allel outwardly pressed resilient spaced strips for receiving a row of said units, each unit lying at right-angles strips, and loop means for detachably locking the ends of said strips together, each of said strips having offset inwardly extending end tongues for contacting each other when said loop means is in position.

4. In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units each comprising an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a pair of connected parallel resilient spaced normally divergent strips for receiving a row of said units, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, loop means for detachably locking the ends of said strips together, and means for permanently joining the center of said strips to provide a pair of end chambers for receiving two sets of said fastener units, whereby said units may be assembled and removed from both ends of said holder.

5. In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units each comprising an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a pair of connected par allel spaced strips for receiving a row of said units, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, loop means for detachably locking the ends of said strips is to be understood to the plane of said together, and means for permanently pointing the center of said strips to provide a pair of end chambers for receiving two sets of said fastener units, the end of said holder being bent in the same direction to produce a U-shape holder.

6. In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units, each comprising an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a pair of connected parallel spaced strips for receiving a row of said units, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, loop means for detachably locking the ends of said strips together, each of said strips having offset inwardly extending end tongues for contacting with the ends of the other strip,and a spring strip located between said spaced strips to hold said units in position even though one of said spaced strips is flexed outwardly.

3e 7 In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units, each comprising an assembled hool eye, and loop, a pair of connected parallel spaced strips for receiving a row of said units, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, loop means for detachably locking the ends of said strips together, each of said strips having oflset inwardly extending end tongues for contacting with the ends of the other strip, and

a spring strip the ends of which terminate short of said offset tongues located between said spaced strips to hold said units in position even though one of said spaced strips is flexed outwardly.

8. In a holder for a row of dress fastener units, each of which comprises an assembled hook, eye, and loop, a back strip having inwardly ofi'set tongues at its opposite ends, and a pair of intermediate forwardly extending lugs, a front strip having inwardly ofi'set tongues adapted to engage the correspending tongues on said back strip and having an intermediate offset section in alinement with said lugs, a spring strip lying between saidback and front strips, said lugs being bent over around said spring strip and front strip for locking said parts together.

9. In a holder for a plurality of dress fastener units, each comprising an assembled 5o hook, eye, and resilient normally loop, a pair of resilient normally diverging spaced strips of strip metal for receiving said units in a row, means for connecting said strips at a point between their ends, each unit lying at right-angles to the plane of said strips, and means for connecting the ends of said strips to lock said units within said holder.
