Fig. 2 a view partly in front end elevation and partly in transverse vertical section taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1;

Fig. 5 is a fragmentary detail view with some parts sectioned on the line 55 of F i 1' I Fig. 6 is a fragmentary detail view with ,some parts sectioned on the line 66 of Fig.
1, on an enlarged scale; and
Fig. 7 is a detailed view principally in section taken on the line 7-7 of Fig. 6.
The numeral 8 indicates as an entirety the chassis of a folding baby carriage disclosed and broadly claimed in the application heretofore identified with the exception of the .side bars 9 and folding body supports 10 at the ends of said chassis.
Referring now in detail to the present invention the numeral 11 indicates a collapsible flexible body made from any suitable material held to form by upper and lower tubular Divided and this application filed Serial No. 405,116.
The body 11 is attached to the frame member 12 by having its upper edge portion, which extends through the slot 14, folded around a iiexible core 16 in said member and secured thereto by stitches or other fastening means 17. The frame member 18 is secured to the lower edge portion of the body 11, which extends into said body through its slot 15, by a flexible core 18, similar'to the core 16, and which core 18 is secured to the body 11 by fastening means 19 similar to the fastening means 17.
A flexible apron 20 forming a depending extension of the body 11 is stitched or otherwise attached to said body, at the frame member 13, and said apron at its lower edge is attached to a tubular metallic frame member 21 of substantially the horizontal contour as the frame member 13 and has in its inner side a longitudinal slot 22. The connection between the apron 20 and frame member 21 is, as shown, the same as that of the body 11 and frame member 12, wherein the lower edge portion of the apron 20, which extends into the framemember 21 through its slot 22, is folded around a flexible core 23 in said member 21 and is secured thereto by stitches or other fastening means 24.
Preferably each frame member 1213 and 21 is formed from two duplicate metallic tube sections of such gauge as to keep their form under the load they must sustain but at the same time having such flexibility as to produce an easy riding body. The ends of these tube sections forming each framemember 12-13 and 21 are rigidly connected by coupling sleeves or other fastening means 25 that do not obstruct the slots 14, 15 and 21 in the respective frame members 12-13 and 21. Manila rope or other similar material may be used in forming the cores 16-18 and 23. In the construction of the improved body the cores 16-18 and 23 are first threaded end- Wise into the sections of the respective frame members which are primarily straight and thereafter bent to form. The coupling sleeves are then applied to the abuttlng ends of the sections of the frame members 12-13 and 21 and secured thereto by rivets.
' apron 20ers suspencl'ediroin the framevmeiw ber 12 and the frame members 13 and '21 hold said body and apron taut. From the above description it is evident that eaehfrarne anember'1'2'13 and 21 and each core 16, 1 8 and 23 is, in 'a broad sense-endless.
' .Y Vithinth bod 11 is an inclined back support 26 of fabric or other 'fiexible material andvthe "lower edge portion btwhich is sewed or otherwise'se'cured to the bottom of said body; rearward of the longitudinal center thereof. A strap 27' is sewed to the upper edge. portion of'theback support '26 and has onits ends hooks '28 adapted to beinsertv ed through any one pair of transversely aligned longitudinally spaced holes 29 formed in the top of the frame member 12 '(see Figs. 4 and 5) Obviously, by adjusting V the hooks'28'in different transversely aligned pairs of holes 29 the inclination of the back support 26 may be varied at will. 1 Byre'leasing the hooks '28'from the frame member 12 the back support 26 may be laid flat on the bottom. of the body 11 and under the bedding :therein; v e.
The body is removably and yieldingly ,7 suspended at each end from the body sup- 40.
ports 10fforuniversal movement by a'pair of connectors each of which includes an apertured ,plate '30 and a short coiled spring "31.
Said apertur ed plates 30are detachably secured tothebody support 10 by being remov-' ably applied to upstandinggheaded studs '31 on said body supports. The springs 32 which extend horizontally and transversely of the body :11 have their intermediate por I tions secured to said plates by folding said plates therearound and theirfends are anchored by sl ortboltsto outwardlyand down- 'wardly projecting lugs 33 formed with the coupling sleeves 25 for the sections of the frame member 12. The suspension of the body llbythe sh'ort horizontal springs 32 permits the use-of relatively heavy springs 6Q l -ion-ingw the lateral and longitudinal movethe univei salniovements thereof will be "suflioient to givethe body 11 the desired. V. I
' r around the bottom-of the apron and suspended entirely therefrom, and spring stabilizspring action". 1
A pair of stabilizers are provided for'cus hments of the body 11in respect to the chassis 8. -As shown there is one of these stabilizers eachjsid-e of the body 11 and each thereof 7 7 comprises a coil spring 34 intermediately and detachably secured by a hook-like clip 35 to the respective side of the frame member 21 at the longitudinal center thereof. The end portions of the springs 34 are in diverging relation in respect to the clips 35 and have their ends secured at 36'to the underlying side bars 9. See Fig. 1). By reference to Fig. 3 it will be notedthat the clip 35 is attached tothe frame member 21 bybeing hooked thereover.
