The invention will be described in detail hereinafter and will be found illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 is a fragmentary view of a shirt and collar and necktie, the collar being shown partly broken away, the collar stiffener and necktie supporter being shown applied there- Figure 2 is a view similar to'Figure 1 with 95 the collar flaps and the necktie turned upwardly to disclose the position of the collar stiffener and necktie supporter,
Figure 3 is a viewof the .two members of the device,
Figure 4 is a top plan view of one of the members, and
Figure 5 is a side view in.elevation of one of the members' In the drawings similar reference charac ters are used to designate corresponding parts in all of the views.
The device consists of two counterpart members designated 1 and 2 res ectively, and each of them provided with a siharpened pin portion '3 that is adapted to be inserted through the fabric of the collar flap as shown at 4 in Figure 2, A designating the collar. The pins 3' are located in the seam a in the 2. The members 1 and 2 are provided with V-shaped ortions 5 having a side 6 that is substantia ly at right ang es to the pins 3, and a portion bent from the part 6 in the V-shape on substantially the same plane as the portion 6 and designated 7, and then 1931. Serial No. 540,715;
bent upwardly as shown at 8, said V-shaped ortions 5 being adapted to seat under the old at a of'the collar A as clearly shown in Figure 1. At the ends of the portions 8 the members 1 and 2 are bent downwardly and curved as shown at 9, and when in position as shown in Figures 1 and 2 of the drawings, the parts 9 are entwined to hold the two members 1 and 2 together, and also to engage behind the knot of the necktie B and to support said knot, the ends 9 being curved toward one another as well as toward the necktie as disclosed in Figures 3 and 5 respectively. 1
What is claimed is 1. A collar stifi'ener and necktie supporter, comprising counterpart members having pins to engage in the edge seams of collar flaps, V-shaped portions extending from said pms to fit under the fold of the collar remote from said edge seams, and curved extensions from said V-shaped portions in the direction of the pins adapted to entwine behind a necktie knot to support it.
2. A collar stiffener and necktie supporter,- comprising counterpart members made of strands of wire, each strand having an end providing a pin adapted for insertion in the edge seam of a collar flap, a portion of said strand bent at substantially a right angle to go said pin to engage in the collar fold, a second portion of the strand returned at an acute angle to said last mentioned portion on a line I substantially at a right angle to the pin, then bent away from the pin at an obtuse angle to 5' the second portion, and its extremity bent in the direction of the pin and curved, the
- curved extremities being adapted to entwine and provide a supporter for a necktie knot.
In testimony whereof I atfix' my signature. 9o
