Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 185,232, dated December 12, 1876; application filed November 10, 1876.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JACOB HEPPERLY, of Peoria, in the county of Peoria, in the State of Illinois, have invented a Stand for VVater- Coolers, (stationary and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which like letters of reference refer to like parts, and in which Figure 1 represents a perspective view; Fig. 2, a vertical section on line a a, Fig. 1.

This invention is an improvement in the mode of making and draining stationary stands for water-tanks for drinking, and for guarding the adjacent walls or premises from splashes; and it consists of a shallow basin, with supporting-tongues, wall-screens, Wastepipe, and a side drip-spout under the faucet of the tank, the whole being so constructed as at once to be fastened to the Wall or other support, or by the downward lengthening of the guards to constitute the latter a sufiicient support, to answer at the same time as a Wallguard to intercept splashes.

In the drawings, which represent one of the forms in which I construct the stand, A represents the tank-support or stand, suspended by several tongues, e, or vertical ofi'sets from the edges of the horizontal edge of the same above and below, perlorated for screws, so as to secure the same to the angle formed by the guards B B or the wall. The center of the stand Ais hollowed into a basin, a, with a side dripspout, d, projecting under the faucet of the tank to receive any drops from the former, or waste-Water from a cup. This is formed or cast on the side of the basin nearest the wall, in case the device is attached to the open wall.

From the bottom of the basin opens a drain, fitted with a waste-pipe, b, which is bent so as to pass back through the guards B or the wall behind, as in washing-basins and similar drains.

The basin or stand and tongues may be cast in metal, or made of any convenientmaterial, In one piece.

The side guards B B are used to support the stand, and partly inc-lose the same on two sides, and may be continued, if desired, to the base-board or floor, to act as noncondnctors, or to isolate the tank as much as possible from contact with the heated walls of a room in summer.

What I claim as my invention is 1. The drinking-water stand A, with tongues e e, basin a, drip-spout d, and drain-pipe b, adapted for attachment to the guards B B, or to a wall or other surface,substantially as and for the purposes set forth.

2. The combination, with the basin-shaped stand A, having tongues e e and drain-pipe b, of the drip-spout d, substantially as and for the purposes described.

3. The combination of the guards B, stand A a, titted with drain-pipe b, and spout d, substantially as and for the purposes described.
