Description

March 8, 1932. M. SCHNEFEL PENCIL FINGER NAIL CLEANER Filed April 2, 1931 gmwnto'o Wax/)7? ///0/7 Shh/767W,
Patented Mar. 8, 1932 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE MAXIMILIAN SCHNELFEL, OF NEWARK, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGN'OR TO SCHNEFEL BROTHERS, INC., A CORPORATION OF NEW JERSEY PENCIL NAIL CLEANER Application filed April 2,
the substance of the body and the material of the core will both extend to the point of the body. It is not intended to limit this invention in any manner to the substance of which the body of the pencil is made, or to the character of the core with respect to the ingredients mixed to constitute the core.
In the accompanying drawings the parts of a side view with the substance of the body extending to the point which may be fashioned at one end of the body. For clearness the scale of drawing is twice the usual size.
Fig. 2 represents the parts illustrated in Fig. 1 turned one-half way around and show ing a side view with the material of the core extending to the point of the pencil.
Fig. 3 is a side View of all parts assembled showing both body and core extending to the point. V
Fig. 4 is a flat side view of one of the half round members of which the body of the pencil is composed, showing the core extending lengthwise therein and arranged on one side of the axial center line of the member.
Fig. 5 is a. cross section ofthe parts assembled.
Throughout the drawings and description the same numeral is used to refer to the same part.
members 1 and 2 may be of wood or other suitable substance, secured together on the longitudinal line 3. In Fig. 1 the body is shown having one end 4 cut into a point and the substance of the body extending to the point. In Fig. 2 the substance of the Considering the drawings, the half round Serial No. 527,337.
body has the conical end 5, but the end of the point is'composed of the sharpened end 6 of the core 7.
InFig. 4 it is shown that the core 7 extends lengthwise of the body and is let into the flat side of each of the half round members 1 and 2, as is best set forth in Fig. 5. The core is arranged at one side of the axial center line of the body.
In the operation of this invention if the pencil body he sharpened as a lead pencil is sharpened at one end, the substance of the wooden bodywill extend to the point 4, and may be applied to the cuticle at the base of the nails. Also the core will be exposed on one side, and it may be of red material as illustrated for cleaning and polishing the finger nails.
7 may be applied to the treatment of the finger nails in the customary manner.
Having now described this invention and the manner of its use, I claim 1. A pencil having a core composed of material for the treatment of finger nails, the body of said pencil being formed of wood, and the point of the pencil being sharpened whereby a portion of the wooden body at the end thereof is sharpened and extends to the exposed end of the core on one side of the core, the point of the pencil consisting of a portion of the body and a portion of said core.
2. A pencil having a core composed of material for the treatment of finger nails, the body of said pencil being formed of wood, the said core of the'pencil being. arranged lengthwise to one side of the axial line of the body, and the point of the pencil being sharpened whereby a portion of the wooden body extends to the exposed end of the core on one side of thecore.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
MAXIMILIAN SCHNEFEL.
Thus either the point of the body or the exposed end portion of the core
