I This invention relates to a mascara case and has for its object to provide a deviceof this class which is convenient to handle, simple to construct and easy to clean and replace or refill with a new cake of cosmetic material. 1 Referring to the drawings: 1 Fig. 1 shows one embodiment of this invention with the hinged cover raised.
Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. l.
Fig. 3 is a perspective of a metal stamping for holding the applicator brush.
Fi el is the metal receptacle for holding b the cake of mascara.
The metal box is shown as being pro- 35 vided with a cover portion 11 hinged thereto and provided on the inside with amirror 12 secured within the cover, Within the main body portion of the'box 10 is a metal receptacle 13 in which is placed a cake of mascara 14,
2a or other type of cosmetic.
A second metal receptacle or stamping 15 is provided with a longitudinal depression therein for holding an applicator brush 16 provided with bristles 17 and the handle P01? tion indicated. The sides of the stamping 15 are bent down at 18 and 19 to form downturned flanges which support the stamping 15 in the box 10.
The longitudinal depression is enlarged at 39 20 so that the brush handle may be grasped and withdrawn more easily. Riveted to the front side of the box 10 at 21 and carried on the inside of the front wall is the metals rin 22 carr in the cover latch 23. This P e 5 z:
as extending out through, the front wall of the box lOand said latch 23 engages the inv 8 side of an outwardly pressed portion 24 in the The stamping 15 and receptacle 13 are so shaped as towedgingly or substantially tightly fit within the box. The top surface of the stamping 15 is enameled so that this surface maybe easily cleaned and there will be no tendency for moisturetrom the brush to rust or corrode the surface of the depression in latch 23 is actuated by the projection shown V 13'and stamping lo within' the box 10. To
replace or refill the box the receptacle 13 is removed and either cleaned or refilled with a new" cake 1401' else a new box l3icontaining a new cake l l is'inserted.
