This invention relatestocertainnovel im-V provements in .garment hanger frames and n p has -for its-principalobjectthe provision or an'improve'd; construction of thischaracter 5 which willbe'highly etflcientin use and eco,- omical inimanufacture. v
It yis among the objectsjof myinvention to provide a device of the above named character whichw-ill'be arrangedzso as toembody w two side members which are preferably of a one piececons'truction andwhihch will prefer-V ably have portions thereof joined together' by welding. Y 4Another object Vof the invention isto prof, vide van expeditious Y the side frames.
A stillfurther objectofthe invention is to provide a fra-me which will embody portions jt'hat willsupporta'protecting covering andgf, other-portionson which garment hangers of approved formr may be arranged. y y
A still further object of the inventionV is to provide a construction ofthe above de-` Y scribed characterY which in a vr'rmdified 'form willembofdyspacedjapart supporting members whichV will -bev adjustably connected to' the side frames inV orderuthat they maybe spaced apartvin predetermined amounts. By' referringfto 'Fig. 3- it may bev seen that the center brace isarranged to-'extendve'r tically and .fthe hook23 Yis'.assr'gciatedV Ytherewith so aslto `facilitatethis. The section1r7' isA arranged to K extend an gulfarlyV with respect tothe horizontal and' is Apreferably ar-` rangedso thatwthev end embodying vthe loop portionil is.- arranged Yat a lowerA 'horii zontal levelfthanfthe end embodying the looped portionQOg'f This arrangementissnch that whenl-the 'hooks' or garment hangers*are` Vdisposed on` the rod BO''these *l hooks may bei I easily located since the front ends of the side yframes 15 and`16, facing the opening 33 in the drape 32, will be disposed higher'than the other end of these frames 15 and 16 so that supporting rod 30 may be readily seen andthe garment hangerhooks readily removed from the rod 30V by the operator entering his arms through the slit 33, without the necessity of pushing other garment hang-` ers and the garments thereon from side to side to find the particular garment hanger on the rod 30 that it may be desired to remove from rod 30. The portion 15is similarly arranged and this arrangement permits the protectivesack 32 .to be draped over and con- Y venientlyand-detachably secured to the devas vice yin the manner to be explained hereinafter., v v Y" In order to join the side frames 15 and 16 together I provide rod . members 24, 25,
' and i26. In the ends of the rod member-24 are tapped openings and bolt members 27 are extended through the looped portions 2OV `bers serves to very effectively joinrthe side frames .15V and 16 together. If desired the rod members 24 and 25 and 26 may be made from rtubular V material .which will facilitate the tapping of the openings in the ends thereof- V Y i l lA supporting bar 30 extends between the center braces 22 adjacent the `lower end therey of and if desired this supporting barY 30 may be made from tubular material. The supporting bar 30 is arranged to embody tapped openings in the ends thereof and bolt members 31 are extended through openings in the centerv braces 22 and are threaded into these tapped openings and thus the supporting bar 30 is very'effectively supported.
After the side frames 15 and 16 have been joined together in the manner set forth. the hooks 23 are disposed on the horizontal supporting bar 12 and it is, therefore, manifest that the` frame 14kv will be supported from this bar 12. Priorto the time 'the hooks 23 are associated withithe supporting bar 12 IV arrange the sack 32 on the supporting frame 14. Thissack 32 vis preferably made from a suitable dust-proof textile material and'has a slit in oneface thereof indicated by 33 which may be opened in order that clothing or the like supported on suitable hangers may be in` serted into this sack 32 and the hangershaving the clothingassociated therewith will be suspended from the bar 30. The particular arrangement'of the textile sack 32 andv the manner in which the clothing is associated therewith is particularly described andV claimed in my U. S. Patent No. 1,773,888, dated August 26, 1930, which patent relates to improvements in storage chambers.
In-Figs. 4 and 5 I have illustrated a slight-` ly modified form of construction of the side kframes. In this instance the side frames are each preferably-'formed from a single elongatedstrip of material, such as a length of wire or the like. In forming the side frame the Vwire is bent centrally upon itself and the wire portions adjacent the bight portion 34 are'turnedor twisted so as to .wind the wire portions upon themselvesto provide a hook led outwardly as at 36 to provide an opening 37 for the passage o-f the screws y29y andY below this opening the `wire members are again twisted or wound together as at 38.
Belowthe twisted portion 38 the portions of the w-iremember are looped to provide @1.1;
opening 39 for the passage of thescrew 31 Adjacentportions of the wire-member'are mediate portions are again looped to providel` openings 4() for the passage of the vscrews y27. The end portions are then bent toward each other inv asubstantial.horizontal plane with-v their extremities looped about the-lowerportion 41 ofthe hook 35 above the portions l portion-35.A Intermediate the bight portion 34 the portions of the wire member are buck- 36 providing the opening 37 thus completing the side frame member which .is formed as indicated from a continuous strip of material. I have found that by forming each ofthe frame members from a. single length of wire that the costl of production is greatly reduced- Vand that the sameis more economical in use.
After the formation of each side frame member fro-m the single length of wire .the same maybe coated with a suitable chemical to prevent rust or the like.
While I have illustrated and described thev preferred form of construction Vfor carrying Y my invention into effect, this is capable of variation and modification, withoutvdeparting from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish. to kbe limited to the precisedetails of Yconstruction setforth, but desire to avail myself of'such variations and modificationsas come within the scope of the appended claims.
`.Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire vto protect by Letters Patentis:
