A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of the improvement.
Figure 2 is a side elevation thereof.
Figure 3 is a sectional view approximately on the line 33 of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a similar sectional View but 7 the filler sheet or strip disconnected from short legs 2 the garment 1, from the sides thereof, is slitted or open, and to the edges of the said open portion there are stitched or otherwise secured the edges of .a sheet or strip of the same material as that of the garment. The stitched edges of the sheet or strip 4 are provided with button holes and i the said button holes 5 pass through the difolds comprising the inner members 7 are 7 substantially V-shaped in cross section, and the outer ends of this portion 7 adjacent to the bottom of the sheet, have attached thereto a button 8 designed to be passed through the button holes 5 when the plaited or folded open portion of the legs 2 of the garment.
vThe fabric sheets have their upper edges stitched, as at 9, to the waist line and at the divided leg portions of the garment.
The construction and advantages of my improvement will, it is thought, be understood and appreciated by those skilled in the art to which the invention relates after the foregoing description has been carefully read in connection with the accompanying drawing-s. 7' V vHaving described the invention, I claim: A union suit of the characterdescribed which is provided with short legs and the said garment, fromthe waist line to the outer ends of the legs having its sides divided, a fabric sheet of substantially rectangularv formation having its upper end stitched to the waist line at the dividing portion of the gar divided portion of the legs of the garment,
said sheet designed to be folded into the legs sheet is to be secured to the legs to close the I ment and having its edges stitched to the of the garment or to be spread outwardly therefrom and when folded to provide sides and inner portions connecting the sides, the said inner portions being thus of cross sectionally V-shaped formation, the outer and connecting portion of the center, adjacent to the lower end thereof, having abutton and the sides of the fold and the sides of the divided legs having button holes to receive the button therethrough.
