This cap is formed with an upwardly extending peripheral fiange 52', throughfwhich are disbeads the posed, and secured, the'inner ends of the radially extending brace rods, which are adapted to be anchored at a suitable point.
Secured in the bottom wall of the member 51, isa suitable lubricant container 57 preferably of the automatic gravity feed type. Passing through the step 22, of member 14, at a point opposite the passage 45, is a vertica-loil passage 58, and secured in the lower end of said passage is an oil pipe 59.
The member 15 is of similar construction to that described in connection with the member- 14, and has the power ring 60 disposed in the channel, such ring being held in the channel by means of the retaining ring 61, and being provided with upwardly extending studs 31, constructed in a manner similar to the studs 31, of the power ring 19.. The power ring 60, and the inner wall of the channel, are oil grooves63 an'd 64, between which com munication'ls established by means of the oil passages 60, formed through the vertical web of the retaining ring 61.v The groove 64 has the vertical oil passage 65 which registers with the passages 66, in the head of the 'retaining ring 61. The lower end of the beforementioned oil pipe 59 is secured within the upper end of this oil passage 66. The lower face of the powerring 60 is formed with the annular oil groove 67, similar to the groove 24, of the ring .19. Leading downwardly through the bottom of the channel of the member 15, from the ledge 68, is an oil passage 69, within which is secured one end of i the oil pipe 70, said pipe having its other end secured in the outer end of the oil passage 71, formed in the hub member 16, of the member 15, and which passage extends to a point di- 7 rectly above a bearing 72, located in the upper portion of the housing 10, and which surrounds the shaft 12.
' The operation of the device may be briefly described as follows: Power being applied to the worm shaft 11, to rotate the same,,the vertical shaft 12 will also be rotated, carrying around the, channeled members 14 and 15. As the members 14 and 15 rotate about their axes, the power rings will be given eccentric rotary movements, whereby to cause the reciprocation of the pumping rods 41, and the operation of the pumps at the wells.
By removing the nut 39, from the bolt,
the disk 38 maybe lifted from said bolt,
whereupon the operator may slip the sleeve 34 fromthe stud 31, or slip a sleeve thereon.
Thus the number of pumping rods may be increased or diminished, in accordance with the number of wells to'be operated. What is claimed is:
1. A pumping power unit including a shaft, an eccentric channeled member mounted' on the shaft, a power. ring seated within the channel of the me1nber,and a'retaining ring disposed between the power ring and formed, respectively, with the 5 shaft, aneccentric member mounted on the i is shaft and having a circular channel, a power ring seated withinthe channel and-spaced from one wall of said channel, and a retaining ring T.-shaped in cross section having its web disposed in the said space and its head overlying the eccentric member and the r,
